Taking Classes During/After Application

I'm applying to MD/PhD programs this cycle (for matriculation in 2015). I never got my second semester of physics done while in college, so I'll need to take it sometime before I matriculate. I've had a few gap years but have been busy with a full time research position. Will it look bad on my application if I wait until this winter or next summer to take the class? I.e., should I get started on the course this summer so that I can at least say that the class is in progress? Or does it not really matter? Thanks.

It doesn't really matter. You're fine as long as you finish before you matriculate.

. . . . Except for a handful of schools that want prerequisites complete before application, before fall, or before the January prior to matriculation.
