so my school offers biochem and another class called 'pre-health biochem'. I didn't do too hot in regular biochem (B-) due to awful planning and I wanna take it again. my school counts pre-health biochem as a completely different class and dept. Should I take it? im sure they would know something is up based on the name, so do adcoms count it as retake?

thanks

Don't retake anything better than a C, especially not an easier version of the course. It's a waste of your time and money. Your tuition dollars are better spent on taking another upper division science course - just make sure you can ace it.

I don't think that B- is going to matter if you have a good GPA to begin with. I got a B in biochem and it hasn't hindered my cycle at all. If you want to do it to master the material, go for it, but adcoms will not count it as a retake. You shouldn't retake a B- anyway, only retake C- or lower (some schools have a C grade cutoff for all prereqs, and even biochem isn't a prereq at schools).
