taking DAT a summer before application cycle

Hi,
I am planning on taking DAT in the summer, a summer before the the application cycle. More specifically, I am planning to take DAT in summer 09 and want to apply to dental school in summer 10. the schools that I'm interested in attending so far are okay with DAT scores that are less than two application cycles old, so I will be in a good shape.
I was wondering if I send my score to the schools (sent to that 4 schools with no extra charge), the school will still have my record when i apply there a year after. Does anyone know about this?

I'm afraid you will need to resend them, although you might want to first call the schools if resending of scores is necessary.

This is not a simple yes/no answer simply because every school handles applications and the respective paperwork differently. I know that its common for schools to set-up temporary files when they receive such things as the dat. I took the dat on January, 4 months before the app cycle began and this was the case for me. however, over a whole year I imagine things easily get misplaced and/or thrown away and shredded. The only, albeit sorta cop out, answer would be to call the specific schools you are sending it to and see what their thoughts are.

I'm doing the same thing, except I'm taking the DAT this summer and applying next June. I have heard pretty much the same thing - depends on the school. Since they give you 5 or 6 free, you might as well send your scores out to them just in case. I know, it will suck to send out the scores again for $25 a pop. 🙁 The price of being ahead!
