Since I am doing an informal post bac would it be better to take a regular course load of science or take a lighter schedule and do well? Obviously money is an issue so I am considering just taking 3 classes or a lighter course load during fall and just focus on doing well. Also I took an evolution course awhile back getting a D and thinking about taking a lower division bio course at my local state college. Would it look bad if I take a lower div biology course or would it be beneficial since I didn't do so well in my previous school?

Op, focus on doing well! take no more than 3 science classes a semester (tho most students usually do 2 until they get to graduate school) and even with 3 classes u will still be studying like crazy so hope u would have an open schedule if you chose that. 3 science classes will probably be around 12-13 hours if u include the labs so just be smart about it.

I personally wouldnt be able to handle 3 in undergrad because of all the mcgraw hill connect homework learnsmart and other crap and comes with studying notes.

And have you take Bio 1 or 2? I would just take those if u havent already because they are lower lvl courses. If u have already taken those take something at the 200 lvl maybe A/p or genetics.

yeah I am focusing on doing well. I already grad with a degree. I am used to the quarter system so whats the typical amount for a semester system? Should i take this intro bio class? whats ur thoughts

What i meant was if you took 3 science classes including the lab u could easily find yourself in 12-13 hours for that semester it doesnt matter if it is quarter or semester.
also intro bio is a prereq so youll have to take it. Evolutionary biology is covered in Bio 2 so if you do well in that course then that will you adcoms that you were able to gain a good understanding of concepts that you previously didnt do well in.

But what I meant as an example schedule would be

Example schedule
Bio 1 3 credit hours
Bio 1 lab 1 1 credit hour
A/P 4 credit hours
Chem 4 credit hours
Chem lab 1 credit hour

- I put chem in ther even tho you said bio because you probably wouldnt be able to take any other lower level bio courses except for A/P and Bio 1 & 2. Didnt know if you were gonna take the labs as well but essentially with a schedule like this in an informal post back you'd be studying ALL DAY AND NIGHT, there some overlap in the courses though.

Now if you just took the lectures it would still be difficult but you wouldnt have the annoying labs. Some schools dont require you to take the labs while others dont care.

I would just take Bio 1 and Bio 1 lab and Chem 1 and Chem lab and then go from there

I am doing an informal post bac at a different state college basically need to boost up my science gpa, now I am debating on whether i wanna take a class this summer which I really want to do cause I am pretty damn bored doing nothing. However I have two choices Biol 212 (human anatomy) and biol 203 (princ cell of molecular biology), I graduated with a bio degree so I took the prereqs for alot of classes. However I failed this evolution class and asked alot of schools if I should retake, they say it doesn't matter the main thing is to just see alot of improvement and do well in my upper div science classes. I am now familiar with the class ranking since it was diff than my old college. I was reading the course description and it doesn't state that it covers evolution at all so I am guessing I need to take the biol 204 series, or if I should even take it at all.

So the biol 203 class is like a prereq for bio students and if I take it it would essentially be useless since I already took bio, but it could substitute the failed grade that I once had, but this biol 203 class doesn't cover the evolution class that I took. Option 2 which is take human anatomy a much needed class I have to take, however its very hard and I basically have a month and 7 days to learn the whole human body. I don't want to take this class just to get a C, I want the best option available to get an A. My friend took the class and got an A and told me to take it during the school year since its alot more time. Both options aren't ideal, other than that I would just sit out for a month and a half and just wait till fall quarter until I take some science classes. What to do?

1) Taking biol 203 won't substitute but just be part of average for calculating GPA.
2) If you are taking only 1 class, 1 month and 7 days ( 5 weeks) it is not bad at all.
3) You should check the catalog, but the 200 series usually is considered lower division course. If that is the case, it should be easy and sort of useless, since you want to take upper div bio classes.
