Taking Organic Chemistry 2 + Lab + English Comp 2 During 12 Week Summer

Do Adcoms look down upon taking organic chemistry II + its lab as 12 week summer courses? I'm in a situation where it'd be advantageous to finish these courses during the next summer period, so I can stay on track with my major.

And does anyone have experience with something similar? I won't be working full time or anything (probably 16 hours a week) and a little bit of volunteering; is this workload manageable?

Isn't a regular semester 12-15 weeks anyway? 3.5 months? What is the difference?

16 weeks is regular semester. Most summer semesters are only 8 weeks

I thought OP said 3 courses. I thought that Orgo Lab and Lecture are different courses

I tend to group them together, but you are right. Orgo II lab is not really difficult, and one lab report per week is manageable (assuming thats the extent of the workload) and I guess your institution. I took it last summer along with Physics 2 + lab over 9 weeks and did well, so OP you should be fine.

Some schools have Lab as only 1 or 2 credits. My orgo lab was 4 credits and it was 2 semesters-in-1 course. That was the hardest and most consuming course I have ever taken. Look at the syllabus of your course and see how time-consuming it is.

By the way, at all schools I have looked at, these courses like Orgo and Orgo lab are not even offered during the summer.

Oh wow, lab as 4 credits? At my school, lecture is 3 credits + 1 credit lab which is required. Why is Orgo II lab a 2-semester-in-1 course for you? Thats makes no sense to me. I have a separate lab for Orgo 1 and Orgo 2 per semester.

at my school there is no Orgo Lab I and Lab II.

Its one course of Orgo Lab with 4 credits. I guess it is 2 semesters in one because there is only 1 course. The material covered is for 2 semesters. we had 2 4-hour labs each week. So, we had 2 different experiments each week. I will tell you that this is very tough. Pre-labs and post labs require huge amount of work.
You could only take it after Orgo 1 Lecture course or after both lecture courses.

I would rather take separate Lab courses than combined

Know yourself OP, no one on here knows your work ethic, outside obligations, understanding going into those subjects, etc. n=1, but I took ochem II and abnormal psychology together in a summer course (ours were only 5 weeks long which meant minimum of a test a week in each subject) and it worked out for me. Granted I didn't really do much of anything else during that time, but you know what you're signing up for.
