Does anybody know if it hurts to take classes pass/no pass that are not med school requirements? I'm currently almost failing a history class that's not required for my major.

i think it will be fine.
don't worry.

Our advisor told us that you should avoid taking any of the required classes pass/no pass. He suggested that medschools tend to view pass as "C" no matter how you may have done.

Just another perspective

Yeah, that's what I heard too. If you are going to do worse than a C in your history class, then go for the P/NP, otherwise, a B would be better.
