I'm planning on submitting my application in June but I'm thinking about waiting until the summer to take biochemistry, and wouldn't get the grade for that until August. Do you think there's any chance this would hurt my chances at schools that require biochem? I have a pretty average GPA, and am working full time and studying for the MCAT right now, so I don't want to risk overloading myself and getting less than an A.

Some schools only allowed a few prerequisites to be pending as future courses. I would check with them and see if they have a limit of the prerequisites you can have in progress. Other than that it most likely wont hurt your chances just send a follow up transcript if you get offered a secondary. Good luck!

Sorry to add on - make sure you list the classes on your original application so they can see you are planning on taking them and when
