Guys,

Im taking my prereqs in two semesters and sitting the DAT immediately. like a week after exams.

Has anyone done this? Im worried that I wont have the months of studying for the DAT under my belt. Will the fact that I JUST took the classes mean im good to go ? Or did you find that when you studied for the dat, you came across concepts you had to learn from the first time because it wasnt covered in your courses.

well, the problem with DAT is that its not just mastering sciences. You still have PAT, high school math that your pretty much out of shape for, and Reading (which, this one you either have or you don't have)

But my point is, just because you just finished the sciences, its prolly not enough.

HOWEVER, if someone was very good at solo-studying, and spends a good 8 hrs a day studying for 5-6 days a week, really all you need is about 1 to 1.5 months to study for whole test.

And to answer your question about "coming accross consepts that I didn't learn before"... that can only be true with biology. Undergrad level general and organic chem are more than enough for the DAT, but simply taking the 100-level biologies isn't enough. Things like detailed genetics / minor microbiology / minor physiology / minor anatomy are not usually covered in 100-level biologies, so you'll have to self-learn them if you haven't taken these courses. theyr not hard subjects since the biology DAT is very basic, but nonetheless, you still have to spend time learning them

Yeah, Totally agree. You will probably not be ready. IMO the prereqes just get you prepared to STUDY for the DAT, not to take the DAT.
