Does anyone know how to fulfill the gen chem prereq at UCLA? It is just chem 20A, 20AL, 20B, and 20L? I'm taking first semester chemistry at a CC now and I'm looking to enroll in 20B at UCLA but from the course description, it looks like more of the same things I am learning now. The quarter system confuses me. 😕 What chemistry class would be the equivalent of second semester general chemistry?

You can not take one part of the chem sequence at CC and the other at a UC, since at CC chem is just two semesters but in UC it is 3 quarters, you either have to take it all in one place or nothing, since there is some overlap in information at the UC's between the chem quarters. so basically there is no need to take it at ucla, especially since you wont be able to take all 3 there.

i suggest you finish the classes from A to C with 2 quarters of labs as well in ucla.

2 semesters in CC equals to 3 quarters in ucla. therefore, you might see some overlaps.

i would suggest you to finish A, B, and C alone L in ucla. 😉

does anyone know what I should do if I took the 14 series at ucla.

the 14 series is chemistry for life science majors.

General chem is split into 14a , 14b and 14bl (lab) totalling 11 units. Thanks.
