I'm Asian. I don't like wearing shoes for extended periods of time when I'm sitting down. I am planning on taking off my shoes as soon as I sit into my chair at the testing center. It will be early morning at 8 am, so my feet won't smell yet, even with this Northeastern heat.

I've heard reports of people being told off about behavioral things during the test. Has anyone else done this before? (i.e., taken off their shoes during the test) Or would the policy depend on my testing center? I am considering giving my center a call about this but am afraid they will think I am trolling really hard. (But I'm not...)

This is a 100% serious question. I like trolling, but this isn't it. I don't want to wear my sneakers for 3+ hours. I don't want to be interrupted mid-section to be told to put my shoes back on. I would rage so hard it's not even funny.

I never even considered this. I usually take off my shoes halfway through an exam and frequently sit with one foot under the other thigh. It's just what I'm used to.

But I don't want to be the weird person calling and asking if I can take off my shoes. Then again, I don't even have a phone number since my testing centre got moved and all I have is an address and floor number.

I did all my practice tests sitting on my feet, or with my legs crossed or something--it's just how I always sit. But during the actual exam, part of the rules were both feet must stay on the ground during the whole exam. Definitely threw me off a bit!

Yeah, **** that. I don't think I've EVER sat with both feet on the ground, and I don't plan to start during a test when there are other, more important things to keep in my mind.

Wait so you can't cross your leg? 🙁

So what actually happened? Were you able to take your shoes off?

I'm thinking I may want to sit cross-legged without shoes...

I wore regular sneakers. There wasn't any discomfort during the exam as I was too focused on taking the test, but it sure kicked in during the breaks. After BS and before the trial section, I changed socks at my locker and was about to walk back to the room without shoes when the proctors told me that I had to keep my shoes on.

It really just depends on your testing center and the people on duty that day.

1. Not that exotic. New York City, born and bred.

2. Naked feet without socks make my feet cold 🙁 Flip flop with socks are no bueno.

3. I was gonna do that anyway. 👍

What a douche bag. First off troll, in statement 3 you said you were going to do that anyways. Then why did you make a thread? Like listening to yourself talk?

Why'd you bump a 3-month-old thread to call me out on a resolved legitimate question? Other people had the same question, and this thread helped them out. Your post contributes as much to society as the **** I took this morning (but at least my feces could serve as fertilizer). Like listening to yourself talk?

You've started more inane threads than I ever have or will.

Let me quote recent gem: "I am sure this will be an obvious answer, so no smartass remarks, please. *insert painfully sophomoric question about prereqs that should've been Googled*"

😆 Then goes to assault a thread by trying really hard to give a smartass comment. Pathetic.

People can make threads looking for opinions similar to their own. So stop acting so ****ing special.

Wait, so did you take off your shoes or not?

Didn't try at first and then tried storing shoes into the locker during a break when I wanted to go shoeless and was told I couldn't. Didn't bother or care to take them off at the station in case they came and yelled at me and wasted my time.

FWIW I took my shoes off, if you're sneaky I don't see it being a problem. It's not like they have cameras under the desk.

9 times out of 10 (probably more) you could get away with it. My question would be whether or not doing so would be worth dealing with the repercussions of they caught you.

Depends on the testing center and the mood of the crankshaft running the hole. Likely no one will ever notice, but if they "feel something is suspicious" they may investigate. This could change your mindset during the test and harm you. You won't be thinking about shoes during the exam so just leave them on!!!

Call your test center and ask to speak to whoever is in charge. Ask them specifically -- they'll probably laugh at you but you'll get an answer.

lowut

I do like the overall interface though. Much easier to get around things, even though the load time has increased.
