I have a question. I am taking the DAT tomorrow for the second time. I have already chosen to have my scores forwarded to some of my schools. Some of the schools have contacted me and told me that my file is complete and has been forwarded to the admissions committee.

I have 2 possible scenarios that maybe somebody could help clarify for me...

1) If I do better on the DAT, what would I do? Just contact the schools directly and tell them that I re-took the DAT and want them to add that to my file? Is it too late to add a new DAT score if they tell me that my file is complete and that it's been forwarded to admissions?

2) If I do worse on the DAT, what would happen? Some schools would receive my scores. Would they still add it to my file if I don't contact them and tell the to add it (if they told me its complete)? If my score drops, I don't want it to have a negative effect on my file (obviously). I am hoping that if a school told me my file is complete and that they have sent it to admissions that they wouldn't add my new score to my file unless I called them. Is that right?

Is that confusing? I really hope somebody might have some incite. Any help is greatly appreciated!

how old are u and what grade are you in? what was your SAT score and what state are u in?

Schools will add the new scores to your file regardless of your preference.

Push it off if you aren't ready. Or just hope for the best.

Just Do It. :luck:

So even if they tell me that my file has been completed and that it has been forwarded to the admissions committee they will track down my file and add the new score?
I just wonder, because I have had schools tell me that if I am planning on retaking the DAT that I need to tell them and they will hold my file. It made me think that if I DON'T tell them to hold my file that it will go to admissions and they wouldn't mess with it anymore....
