I’ve heard that taking pre reqs during the summer is a bad idea, same thing for online classes. But since it would be an english course just to fulfill the one year english requirement, is it okay to do it during the summer and online?

Is it okay if I take both English requirements during senior year and after I apply?

I am currently doing the same thing. My advisers at my college gave me misleading information early on in my academic career and said that medical schools would accept online course work. Luckily the only online prereqs I did were my English classes. I will be taking 2 LIT courses in class to fulfill this requirement.

Online courses are helpful as they will give you a chance to pre-study the material so that when you actually take the course on-ground face-to-face, you will do better. Realistically, it takes a couple of times through a course for one to truly master the material. I give this advice to my students.

I do not mean online courses as a prep course. I am talking online courses through the college itself. If you take an online course at my college and pass it you are not allowed to take it again aside from auditing it. Maybe I am not understand what you are suggesting.

You can take the online course at another institution such as a community college. One good aspect of taking it at a community college is that they are open doors. No one is refused admission!

In other words....take an online course at a different institution than your home institution. Then take the course at your home institution and you will (most likely) do a lot better.

But both grades will be factored into your GPA. I wouldn't want anyone to risk getting a C just to get exposure then to retake it at the home institution for an A. I would suggest going to khan academy or another online resource to get the exposure needed instead of adding to ones credits with a potential crappy grade. But I understand what you mean.
