*sigh* Having a 30 is a weird gig -- not low enough to get filtered out; not high enough to impress anyone 🙁

I think it's very impressive!! I just received my score which is a 32 on the old MCAT, which is what I needed since my bcpm gpa is lower. But if you have a good gpa a 30 is a great score🙂 Are you applying this cycle?

I applied for two cycles and have been waitlisted at both. Due to a low GPA. BUT, I am halfway through a heavy science Master's with 4.0, am taking the new MCAT next spring (mine expires), and giving it the ol' college try again.... or med school try, as it were.

I have faith that this is your year🙂 Would you mind telling me (or PMing me) your gpa? I have a 3.7/3.4 due to a bad semester, and I'm terrified that i"m not going to get any II's. 🙁

I believe Goro is at a DO school. I would be very surprised if the cutoff is a 30. I would think it would be lower at DO schools and low tier/mid tier MD schools.

Aren't you a TX resident? I honestly think you would be fine at all of the Texas state schools except maybe Baylor and UTSW. Does the in-state bias not make it "easy to get in" anymore? Not sure why you are worrying lol I thought everyone IS with decent stats can get into a TX school. And you have decent stats!

Lol my 3.4 apparently looks very bad.....it's frustrating bc I had one horrible semester with my nemesis OChem and then aced upper level bio classes. So hopefully adcoms will see that? Maybe SDN is making me neurotic. I also thought I was going to make below a 500 on my mcat, so maybe i'm super neurotic haha. But thanks!!!🙂

But TCOM has around a 3.7 gpa for both science and cum. But their MCAT average is like 27 so I think I will be okay for that?

I took the MCAT 3x and only moved up 5 points (2015 style) and I've already gotten two II. Don't give up. It's more than just the score
