Hello all, thanks for stopping by.

I am 37 and looking to go back to school.I live in Minnesota and will be trying in-state options first, probably DO after that.

I graduated with a BS in Mortuary Science - cGPA 2.7 ( haven't calculated sGPA as I'm not sure if my MORT classes would count?) Went back to school for my AAS in Ultrasound -cGPA 3.8. I have been working as an ultrasound tech for 8 years, so lots of clinical experience. I also went back to teach ultrasound at the college for 3 years and earned my MPH - cGPA 3.9.

For the most part, my GPA has trended up...now to figure out the next step.

Do I do a DIY post- bacc or get a 2nd bachelor's? I fully expect to get 3.7 or higher during this time and recognize I need to do extremely well on my MCAT.

Am I just SOL regardless of what I do or do I stand a chance?

Thanks for any input as I start this process!
Some of my all time best students have been in their 30s and 40s. One just started her surgery residency at a Keck class university hospital affiliate.

Thanks Goro. I did get a chance to read your reinvention and have it book marked.

I'm just afraid my undergrad was a nail in the coffin and if there is anyway to pry it open, I want to make sure I go about it the best way. I need quite a few pre-reqs so it seems to make more sense to attempt a second bachelor's over non degree seeking admission.
I'm going to let the pun fly over me and also note the OldPreMeds group. Do they still have a forum here?
