Hi guys - random question for Target Pharmacy TMs.
When you transfer a prescription on PDX from another Target pharmacy and you have to print, create, and put it in the fill que, what is the order that you do it in? Like F5, F6, etc?
I don't think my pharmacists properly trained me :/

You help is much appreciated!

from their profile, select the Rx, Y to transfer it, back slash to back out, tab to the MD field, F4 to find the doctor (go back and search by DEA if necessary), then F5 (to create the Rx) ->F6 (to fill/queue it)->F7 (to print the screen shot)

but honestly, finishing it all out doesn't matter, as long as you create it. That's the only place an Rx can get stuck.

so if you forgot to hit F6, then after you've backed out, go to their profile and select the Rx that's on hold to fill/queue it.

if you forgot to F7 to print it, you can also hit semi-colon p to print it (does the same thing), or if you missed it completely, hit F6, toggle the letter A until it goes to auto-transfer, hit enter, then page up until you find the Rx and hit F7 or ;p to print it

I was also trained to F8 and delete transfer record. Not sure what for though?

A little off topic but anyone know if Target going to be upgrading from PDX anytime? I've been with them for a few months so have pretty much gotten the hang of everything but it feels like I'm using a system from the past decade.

Never. There was talks of a RedRx system transitioning for all Target stores but the idea was scrapped. Only select stores have them, and I doubt Target will invest in any upgrades.

RedRx was scrapped in September. The system that they plan to transition to should start being implemented at the beginning of the year - from what I've been told. Next spring or summer is much more likely.

We are going to be getting a Windows-based PDX relatively soon! =)

Had to use PDX at an independent that Walgreens bought out. It seems like a nightmare compared to Intercom Plus. I hope you guys get an upgrade that brings you into this century soon!

I think I just press those 3 buttons along the keyboard in order F5--> F6 -->F7. I can't remember which one is which. I know I hit PRINT last because the new script number created will show on the paper when you do that. I wasn't trained to delete. My tech was trained to do that, but I won't do it. That basically erases the transfer from computer completely, and I don't like that. There are times where my tech deleted the script, and can't find the print out, so it sucked. I don't think there is anything wrong to leave it there.

if you have the screen shot, then yes, that's fine too

if not, they'll just pile up in the auto-transfer queue...but you can always empty that later

Thanks guys! As far as a new system, during my internship this past summer (2012) they told us that they were looking at upgrading PDX to a new version. They had REDRX but the data did not transfer well to the new system and caused a lot of problems, so they are looking at just upgrading PDX. It will probably be another 1 1/2 year or more though!

they are having ALOT of problems with their system

redrx rolled out to a few states....i believe minnesota, utah, arizona, couple others

complete BOMB!

it was supposed to be from scratch built and designed by a target team (ala walmart and walgreen systems)

they had to scratch that idea and are now back to square one.....

they will probably use another third party and roll that out in 2014 or so

talk about years and $$$$$ down the drain with redrx

I talked to a guest in October (after the RedRx stores had switched back over) who I guess actually works for corporate in MN, and he mentioned that they were working on an update for PDX for sometime this year.

And for transfers - I just hit F5 > F6 > F7.

Ditto! Intercom plus makes life much easier.
