For those with a SEP-IRA, does your broker send any tax documents that are reported to the IRS?

I have all my tax stuff ready for my CPA, but wondering if I need to hold out until I receive something to file.

You can file your tax return without any confirmation from the financial instituation regarding your SEP IRA. Each year that you have self-employment income, you have until the due date of that year's tax return to establish and contirbute to a SEP for that year. For that reason, you can actually fund your SEP for the year after you file that's year's tax return.

So if that's the only missing info, you can tell your CPA that you want to max out your SEP, or give him or her the amount you plan to contribute, and they should be able to finalize your tax returns for 2008.
