So I file state taxes in my home of record, though I am (active duty) stationed in another state. Now I have a side civilian job where I am stationed, does anyone know if I have to pay taxes from the side job income to the state where I am stationed, or to the home of record state? Does having a side job preclude me from the privilege of paying taxes from military earnings to my home of record state? Thanks for any replies, hoping to avoid hiring a CPA.

You will file 2 state returns. I live on the border of the state I work in. I also do PRN work in the state I live in. So I file 2 state returns each year plus a federal return......annoying.
