Hello friends,
I would like to know if the taxonomy information in DAT Destroyer is enough for DAT preparation. I downloaded Feralis's excel sheet but I feel that it has much more information on Taxonomy than destroyer.
Thanks

Hey buddy, I would recommend going over feralis taxonomy charts. You don't have to know them word for word. I would make sure to know the main features or characteristics. Body symmetry, colemates, etc. A lot of it is repeating so it shouldn't be an issue.

This was one of my most hated topics when studying for the DAT - I almost wanted to rip my hair out. But if you accompany this with the destroyer, you'll definitely be saying "thank god I studied that section"

Do you mean destroyer is enough?

No lol, that's why I said "accompany" meaning "supplement". So the taxonomy sheet + destroyer.

Honestly, don't study taxonomy in bulk. Study it everyday in between subjects to fire up your taxonomy memory. Taxonomy is one of those topics where studying little by little is your best strategy. You'll fall asleep if you don't

Hey guys,

just wondering how detailed do we have to know the taxonomy? For example, Cliff's AP will go into exact details on like the characteristics of porifera - choanocytes, osculum etc.. Like it would almost be impossible to memorise ALL of these in such great detail?

You would be surprised how much you can memorize if you force yourself to do it. It's not the most high yield information, but anything can show up on the DAT.
I agree with that. However, do you suggest its better to memorize the info from your Taxonomy cheat sheet? that seems more doable

If you want to prioritize your bio review towards higher yield stuff then I would stick to the Taxonomy cheat sheet for the animal diversity section. I think it's still a good idea to glance through the full notes in that section and get a feel for some specifics, but most of the memorization can be focused towards the sheet.
