This passage refers to cell bodies as soma (a term never used, but I picked up on pretty quick). In the explanation, it states to "recall that neuropeptides are packaged into membrane bound vesicles as they are formed near the soma." I do not recollect this being ever discussed. I simply remember that ACh was split into acetate and choline in the cytosol and formed in the cytosol. However, I do not remember them ever stating neuropeptides were packaged near the "soma" in membrane bound organelles. Is this another one of TBR's teaching lessons about future topics discussed or have I missed something? This seems to be pretty important information.

Can you post the actual question with answer choices?

You can also think of like this: the Golgi apparatus is responsible for packaging things into vesicles. The Golgi will be in the soma of a neuron... Never in the axon or dendrites of a neuron.
