70. According to the information in the passage, it can be concluded that:

Wrong answer: Persons with low extracellular calcium concentrations may suffer total skeletal muscle spasms. (I understand why the correct answer is correct. I do NOT understand why this is not also correct. Please explain if you can.)
 
Not sure what their reasoning was but it might be because skeletal muscle mainly gets it's calcium from within the Sarcoplasmic Reticiulum, not extracellular calcium. Maybe

All of the calcium used is from the SR. Only cardiac and smooth muscle use extracellular calcium.

what is the passage/section#?
 
I think you may be reading too much into the question.

Like dyspareunia said, the SR is the organelle responsible for providing the calcium required to facilitate muscle contraction.
It seems like your jumping to the conclusion that if extra-cellular calcium concentration drops it will have lasting effects on the SR.
That doesn't have to occur, especially if your doing an experiment in a lab controlled environment.

Also even if two answers are right (often scenario for MCAT), one of them can be More right. 😕
 
The Gastrointestinal Tract and Kidneys section.
A is stated in the passage as incorrect,
B and c, the passage never talks about muscle spasms, so no way to conclude this I think?
So it must be D

Also the Calcium of SR i think stays inside the cell, I don't think it ever goes it side
