Hey guys,

Recently started on GC and PS with the BR books. Despite understanding the info in the reading, I am finding the actual passages to be VERY challenging. Especially in Gen Chem. Should I just do my best and review the explanations and move on or try to gain more background information through EK or PR other than just BR reading. Perhaps I should keep moving cause I only have 1 month for content review?

Thanks!

i think the general consensus is that the TBR science passages are difficult. most people say that you should try to get over 70% on those passages, and that if you are scoring in the 9-10 range on TBR stuff you will do fine on the real test.

Don't get too down! I started scoring a solid 50% on all of them and am about 20 days into SN2's schedule... I am not consistently scoring 70-75% depending on the subject 🙂thumbdown physics).

They're hard. But I'd rather go into the real thing and not have to say "WTF IS THIS ****" haha.

How do you know you are scoring 9-10 on the passages? Is there a scale?

BR prints scales for every section.

Do you recommend just following the suggested passage schedule? Besides reading the answer explanations, should we review passages any other way? Is it recommended we separate passages into several days, or just complete in one day with review for each section?

Diddo. Also, would u recommend doing 1 passage in 8 mins, review the answers you got wrong and then go onto the next passage? Or to do all the passages at the same time within a certain time frame and then go over the answers?

I personally have found that reviewing the answers before the next passage very helpful because often times I will realize a misunderstanding with the material and get to practice avoiding similar mistakes in the other passages. This is especially true with my Phase I passages. For the phase II passages I try to do all of the passages at once unless Im not as confident with a specific chapter. But I think as long as you are timing each passage you will be fine.
Hope is helps 🙂

Aren't phase I passages meant for learning. Is timing them necessary?

Sorry. I meant timing for the phase II passages but I do try to be aware of the timing for the phase I passages just to figure out my weaknesses early on and try to find a way to solve problems faster if Im taking too long.
