In experiment I, after the bar was released from the top of the rails (points e and b), what was true of the current produced as the bar slid down the rails?

The passage deals with lenz's law and when they ask for the 'current produced' is it asking for the current that it is facing or the current that it is producing to counteract the magnetic field?

I don't know what you mean by current it is facing since all of the current is due to a changing magnetic flux. Maybe you mean the little box marked V, but that is a ammeter for this question, not an EMF source.

The question wants to know if you can tell which direction an induced current will flow as magnetic flux through the loop decreases.
