So I understand that acids might be made from the breakdown of lactose (answer explanation given in the book) in the large intesetine by bacterial enzymes (producing gases and distending the colon) and the pH might drop, but if there's all this water that's coming in, doesn't that decrease the conc of H+ ions by diluting it?
