I just finished the first half of content review using TBR, using a modified SN2 schedule. For the first 2/3 of passages in phys, g-chem, ochem, and bio I am averaging 60%. I generally improve my passage scores from the first 1/3 to the second 1/3. I have read most of the forums focusing on how TBR scores correlate to full length exams, and actual MCAT scores. I feel like most of the students participating in these threads perfromed quite well on TBR passages.

My goal in writing this new post is to hear from students who scored between 55-65% correct on TBR. If your average was in this range, please list the following:

1) What your TBR average was for each subject (g-chem, phys, O-chem, and bio)
2) What your actual MCAT score was
3) How long you studied
4) How many full lengths you took?

Thanks for your time.

I would suggest taking the time to read the content review thoroughly, like really thoroughly, so that ideally you are scoring above 80% during your first set of passages. 90+ in your second set, and 100 in your last set. Actually, ideally you are scoring 100% in your first set of passages (It's not impossible).

If you're scoring 50-60% on the passages that means there is 50-40% of the stuff you don't understand in enough detail. So before doing another set, figure out what you're missing. That means reviewing your answers thoroughly, re-reading parts of the book. I even go on youtube to watch videos explaining things that trip me out.

If you want to answer your question, take an AAMC practice test and see what kind of score you get. From what I gather AAMCs are the yardstick you want to use.

The exception seems to be TBR bio...

You pretty much consent to getting mind raped upon completion of those passages.

I averaged 55-60% on TBR Bio phase 1/2 and 70% Phase 3

I got a 12 on my real MCAT, (for Bio), and got 13, 13, 15, 14 on my last 4 aamc's for the bio section

:] conclusion: TBR bIo sucks1

Thanks for the insight and congrats on that stellar Bio score!👍 I have received a good number for private messages from other students scoring similarly 55-60%TBR-->11-13 AAMC mean BIO score--> 11-14 actual MCAT; however, I have heard little from students in this range for PS.

What did you score in the other subjects TBR, AAMC, and actual MCAT? Also, What did you do in between the 2nd phase and 3rd phase? Did you review notes, review weak material..etc?

I would love to have this thread be a place for 55-65 % TBR students to come and see how things panned out, to gain insight on how to conduct a more effective "postgame review session", and to adapt there content review approach as they come close to full length practice.

Thank you for taking the time to help me through my journey. I greatly appreciate it.

Warm regards,

SOrry I'm a bit late back to this post, I don't check the mcat forum very often, But I posted all my scores, %'s in both the TBR score thread and the 30+ mcat thread, for 3rd phase I skimmed through chapter, or just read my notes and did the passages. I would read through for chapters that were a bit more difficult. I did score higher on the PS of TBR though (averaged 80ish%+)

check out my post!

I just did the first chapter in TBR physics and I got crushed after I did two passages...I am reavaluating my startegy...I might use NOVA physics in conjunction with TBR.

I got pwned by TBR bio but still got an 11.

My score at the end was a 34. 12/11/11. I used tbr for bs and ps. Don't regret it. Not even a little bit.

It's a very zen 'cry in the dojo, laugh on the battlefield' mentality.

Don't worry about it yet. It took me a good month of practice to be able to learn how to answer the questions. That's a big part of it. Scores budge nicely upwards after that. There's more to this test than content.

Ok...I just did the kinematics chapter in NOVA physics and I did much better...I will tackle TBR again after finishing with NOVA.

2.) Actual MCAT score 12 BS 12 PS

3.) I've posted more extensively in the 30+ MCAT habits, but about a year, intensive review for the first 3, on and off for the next 7 and then intensively for the next 2. I am nontraditional so I have to work this around school, volunteering and full time work.
BTW I used TBR as my only review for sciences except physics, where I also used external websites and Nova.

Thanks for this. I guess i missed your posts in 30+ thread.

I often see posts with BR scores WAY higher then mine but yours are close. This is still a few points higher then where i stand. I am not hitting 80% Gchem II and Orgo II yet. I still find BR bio impossible cannot break out of the low 60s. Ill keep at it. Thanks alot!

I like this analogy, and hope it is accurate. What were your (TBR) percentages in chemistry and physics?

I am slowly improving my percentages on phase I and II for additional chapters. Did others feel like they scored higher as time went on in their content review?

Thanks for the posts everyone! Lets keep it up👍

I am seeing slight increases as well. Physics, however, seems to continue to be rough though. My scores the past few chapters have all increased 10 percentage points between phase I and II. like 55 percent on the first 1/3 then 65 percent in my second 1/3. Anyone else experience similar percentage increases? If so, how did your Actual MCAT score turn out?

Thanks for your time.

Here are my results.
TBR
Orgo: 62%
Bio: 77%
Chem: 85%
Physics: 61%

On practice aamcs I regularly got all of the gen chem questions right. I took aamc 3-11 and missed less than 5 gen chem questions total. My average score was just below a 34 and I got a 33 on the real thing (11 on every section)

i am also seeing a few %pts bump.

My last 3 physics chapters i have averaged 67% vs 60% the 3 chs prior to that. i think it has alot to do with "figuring out" the test rather then content. I havent seen any of this stuff in 5 yrs so its all somewhat new.

Gchem is a struggle only a 3% increase but i had alot of trouble with the titration chapter.

So yeah, overall up trend eventhough im not scoring vry high. Its somthing to be happy about. Glad im not the only one! Keep the post comming!
