Tbr torque question confusion

I think TBr is overhyped from what I saw. I also spent most of my time trying to figure out what the hell they were asking. It does not help that the book is riddled with typos and grammatical errors.

That last sentence (left pic at bottom) is golden. There are lots more like this. This is their so called most updated "2017" edition...



But main question I have is how did they arrive at 3.3m using method 2? Can someone explain the algebra please?
