Gen Chem chapter 9, passage 3 problem 16.

The answer is right, but I think the explanation is contradicting the correct answer.

The answer is the graph that depicts a line with a negative slope on a graph with logk as the y axis and T^-1 as the x axis. The explanation given is:

As logk increases, the value of T^-1 increases.

I found this online just to depict the image of the graph. Again, logk is the y axis (increasing upward), and T^-1 is the x axis (increasing to the right).

Shouldn't the explanation say "as logk increases, the value of T^-1 decreases?

Edit: The other typo I wanted to ask about is from TBR chem chapter 9 passage 10 problem 68.

It shows a graph of [product] vs time with the amount of product decreasing over time. So it has a negative slope as well.

The explanation for this graph is
Choice B describes the consumption of reactant in a first-order reaction

This is the shape of the graph, [product] on the y axis, time on the x axis.

Shouldn't the description be "this graph describes the consumption of products in a first-order reaction"?

From what you have here, you should be correct, it's probably a type. Any chance there is minus somewhere that you're skipping? That's the only thing that I can imagine that would make what they're saying correct.

Not that I know of. I've typed out their exact explanation and provided an exact replica of the graphs. If there was a sign convention that I'm missing, the graph would look different in order for the explanation to be correct.
