TBR vs EK Biology review book

I've heard that TBR Biology review book goes into much more detail than the EK book. As I'm reading the first section of TBR Biology, I've noticed that it goes into A LOT of detail. Is this much detail neccessary for the MCAT, or would the EK material suffice?

From what I have read, the EK is very good for the Bio section, while the TBR is great for physics and chemistry (gen and organic).

yup..i have TBR physics/chem...👍 I went with EK bio and its 1001 component. Great review-the questions will drill concepts in along with details...its working well for me

I really like how EK tells you what to focus on. For such a detailed topic like biology it's helpful to have that feature. No experience with TBR.

If you get TBR Bio, do it for the passages. I've gone through 90% of Ek 101 biology and am halfway through TBR bio passages. TBR bio passages for genetics and molecular biology blow EK out of the water. They have 30 passages on these two topics alone. AAMCs are a joke afterwords. Go through EK first as that is good on nailing the basics and TBR for a challenge in applying the material. If you can't get TBR bio books then try to get your hands on TPR science workbook and do those passages. Reading is overrated. If you do enough passages, you'll learn content. Example, what happens when the fight or flight is activated? Your pupils dilate, heart rate increases, digestion decreases as blood is removed from stomach and brought to be pumped to the heart. Facts I learned from passages.
