Just wondering if this would be advisable this late in the season and if It's a match violation- as I know nrmp discourages communication? (Seems they definitely can't disclose rank).

Also if the pd's policy is not to meet applicants post interview, would this still be advisable? Thanks

This is one of the most commonly asked questions each year, and I'm sure you can find infinite threads all with the same answer. Maybe we'll only get a couple of threads this year...

Neither side is allowed to solicit rank list information from the other side (ie they can't ask you where they are on your rank list, and you can't ask them if you're ranked to match). However, either side may VOLUNTARILY offer information to the other side (ie you can tell them that they are your number 1, and they can tell you that you are "at the top of their list" or whatever language = ranked to match).

If you send this sort of message, some 2% of PDs probably get warm and fuzzy feelings, some 2% probably get annoyed and put-off, and some 96% probably don't give a crap/assume you sent that message to everyone. So you're probably just treating your own neuroticism more than anything else, but do what feels right to you.
