I'll be at Temple in August!I was soooooooo impressed by my tour,they're going to really teach us how to adapt to a lot of situations and that's soooooo important.

I got my acceptance letter today! Hooray!! Im so excited to be there this Fall. I havent sent in my deposit yet but I will be sending it soon. I interviewed at Temple, Barry, NYCPM, and Ohio, and Temple was by far the best out of all of them for me. I didnt even bother making arrangements to fly out for my Scholl interview. Temple is what I want and Temple is where I'll be. Cant wait to meet all my new classmates!!!!!! 😉

i'm from Southern Cali also, great to see a lot of So. Cals going to Temple. What state are you guys planning on doing your residencies?

I ultimately want to do residency and practice back in California.

And yes, Dr. Feelgood, I certainly will freeze!!:laugh:

I think you can already apply and put in your deposit but the decision on whether you get it is later. I could be wrong though. In your acceptance packet, there should be info on it.
 
Yea, you just send in a deposit of $500 or something. I forget exactly, but I talked to David Martin about this and he said that if you send in the deposit and show interest in living on campus before June, pretty much 100% of applicants get housing. So don't sweat it too much.

Actually, I'm pretty sure its a $250 deposit for housing. And yeah, theres available housing for pretty much everyone. From what I can recall, I think the single bedroom dorms/apts were the ones that were not guaranteed since alot of people are wanting them, including me 😳.
 
Any new acceptees? Where is everyone? Hope Im not the only one that'll be at Temple this Fall 😛. The guys that are going to Temple, have you already decided on where you're going to be living? If on campus, have you all sent in your deposits already? I feel like I havent even been looking for places to live...

I'll be living off campus since I have a wife and a soon to be newborn.
 
I'll be coming to Temple this fall also. I'm coming to the second look too, anyone else?
 
does anyone know how full Temple is for the class of 2011?
 
I don't know how full it is, but I just got accepted there and I'll be defering a year to finish my master's so I know one spot will be opening up!

I interviewed Friday, March 30 and found out the following Tuesday. The admissions committee is meeting every Monday now and if they have all your transcripts and MCAT scores they will make decisions.

Hmm interesting. Hopefully I'll find out quickly. Monday morning, afternoon, or evening? Silly question but I'm interviewing on Monday and was wondering when I would possibly know so as to not travel to my next interview.

Hi NataM, sorry to butt-in here, but morn/aft/eve is irrelevant since you find out via snail mail. I interviewed on 2/9 and got my acceptance letter in the mail (California) on the following Friday 2/16. But I'm guessing if you really want to know you could always call/email the admin office a bit sooner and hear of acceptance before the package arrives in the mail. Good luck with your interview on Monday!!! :luck:

Thank you! I wasn't sure how notification of acceptance occurs..if (hopefully) I get to that point 🙂 I just feel like I'll be so anxious for a response afterwards..I'm already antsy!
 
At Temple the admissions guy told us at the interview to call on Tuesday if we wanted to find out sooner. (The Tuesday after the interview). I had e-mailed some questions and when I got a reply on Tuesday it told me I was accepted. Although you still get an official acceptance letter via snail mail with specifics about scholarships offered, etc., although I was told in the e-mail what scholarship I was offered, but the specifics of the scholarship is detailed in the letter.

Hey guys. I also live in S. Cal and was just invited for an interview at Temple. Here is my situation...
I have already accepted to Western a DO school out here with deposit and everything, and was set and ready to go there until I received this invite yesterday.

Obviously you guys chose this school so there must be some great features of this school... but I would love to know what tipped the scales for you in the direction of Temple.

Congrats Eric on your acceptance to Western Univ DO school. Before you consider interviewing at Temple Podiatry school, you need to consider the fact that if you are interested in Podiatry or not. By going to a Podiatry school, you will be specializing yourself very early. If you decide later on that Podiatry is not what you want, you will have to start all over again in a MD or DO school. If you were to go to Western, you will have the opportunity to specialize in whatever you want for residency training. As I have told other prepod candidates in the past, podiatry school is not a substitute for MD/DO school. Would you mind sharing why you are consider Podiatry school if you are set to go to a DO school? Lastly, Western is getting ready to start its own Podiatry school.
 
I got a phone call today from David Martin saying that I have been accepted..so I'll be joining everyone in august!!

I'll more than likely be joining you. I got the "yes" from TUSPM & NYCPM and still trying to decide. I'll be withdrawing my app from Scholl.

Something interesting, though, that I'm trying to determine whether or not it has credibility. There were 3rd and 4th year students who advised me to "Beware of a school that offers you a large amount of free money. It is a red flag that they are having difficulty filling their classes." Is there any truth to that? Or has anyone else heard anything similar?

First of all, Welcome :welcome:...

Second, I've heard of that red flag before. That some schools use that scholarship money to lure you into their program...I never thought twice about it until now.

But honestly, Every school I got accetped to offered me a scholarship just at different amounts and these schools are considered upper tier. So That would mean they are all red flags. SO then how do you choose based on that?

I'm gonna be an Owl! I decided mid-week last week!

Anyhow, back to the scholarship issue, my guess is that if there's a school offering an exorbitant amount of money when compared to your other offers - that's when I'm assuming it would raise a red flag. :scared:

But glad to be on board TUSPM class 2011 (or 2012 if I do the DPM/MBA program... 😕 )
