The crow flies at midnight.

can anyone tell us why they were on probation to being with?

subpar facilities, financial aid issues....

but since they are off prob, they have or will implement measures to fix, which have been approved by the big L.

plus they decimated the size of incoming classes so they have more $$$ to spend/student.

(look it up -- "decimated" originally meant to eliminate 10% of an attacker's army. considering the 2nd yrs have a class of 200 and the 1st yrs have a class of 180, its accuarte).

WHy was it on probation in the first place? I was not paying attention.

actually, i beloeve the origin of decimate was that certain Roman generals would promise to kill 10% of their own soldiers at random if they allowed a deserter to get away. it was a means to get the masses to enforce fighting as opposed to running away, or so the legend goes. but yeah, decimate is the perfect word to describe it 😎

i hadnt hear the opposing army thing, you mean, after they surrender they STILL kill 10%? id be interested to hear about alternate origins too

From everybody's favourite online dictionary:

Decimate originally referred to the killing of every tenth person, a punishment used in the Roman army for mutinous legions. Today this meaning is commonly extended to include the killing of any large proportion of a group.

Does this mean that temple students are a "mutinous legion"? 😳
