Hey guys...I had a question about the Temple interview....I know it's group format...but are the questions that they ask applicant specific (i.e. why did you get this in this class?) or are they broad questions addressed to everyone (why dentistry? etc.)...or a combination of both? Typically how many questions do they ask?? And also...I know they used to do an on the spot essay....do they still do that now?? I posted this under predental as well...but maybe some of you who interviewed there in the past have some insight?? Thanks!!!

The questions are more general like "why dentistry". If you haven't already, you should use SDN's interview feedback feature to find out more.

Since the interview is in group format, it is difficult to ask applicant specific questions. If I remember correctly, the interviewer would ask a question such as "What is your definition of professionalism and how does it relate to dentistry?" and we would all randomly take turns answering the question. I found this format to have its pros and cons. It's nice when you're able to formulate your answer based on how others are approaching it, yet sometimes you're in a scrabble to come up with something to say after someone seems to take the words out of your mouth. As far as an essay goes, I didn't have to write one 2 years ago - I'm pretty sure Brian (who you'll meet) eliminated it. Hope this helps, best of luck to you!

Temple interviews are about as easy as they get.
