Just know this: You will have lots of time on your hands!
do we need a Temple ID to get into the gym? if so, do we get out ID's during orientation? Thanks for all the help
you really will have a lot of free time on your hands. enjoy it.
also, is it true that Temple doesnt have +/- in their grading system?
thanks so much PChemgrad, uve been a great help. Appreciating all the info uve given so far and hope to hear some more.
how many teeth should we have at least collected by the time we get there? When do we use them and how many?
about the student gym thing. Ill be there a week early and i wont have my ID card until orientation. Im pretty strict with my work out regimen and would prefer not to skip. You think the staff workin at the student facility gym will let me in if i tell them i will have my ID? Maybe just having my ID number is good enough.....hopefully this will be ok.

Heres to you first year dental student, upon receiving your acceptance letter to dental student, you called everyone you knew to tell them you will soon becoming a dentist. Thinking all you will be doing is studying what goes on in the mouth, is soon shattered as you step foot in and are overwhelmed by Histology, Biochemistry, Physiology, and other non dental related classes. You soon realize dental school wont be as easy as you once thought. Upon entering the pre-clinic you soon realize you will live here for the next several years, you are soon introduced to waxing and think of it more of an art class than school work. Frustration sets in the first time you pour up your first stone model, and cant seam to figure out how to get it bubble free. The first time you pick up your hand piece, you cant help but feel like a real dentist, yet cant figure out how to control it with smooth accurate precision. Drinking takes on a new meaning, it helps dull the pain of studying non stop.
For books.
Materials: Buy
Biochem: Dont Buy
you will get a ton of packets to study from, if you have a biochem book from undergrad, that will be all you need
Histo.: Dont Buy
They give you everything you need but The book they tell you to buy, you can get online for free through the school
Restorative: BUY all three books
Behavioral: Dont Buy
Preventive: Buy but share with someone
