Hi everyone,

I apologize if this has been posted already but having trouble deciding between which school to choose.

Temple or Pitt? I am out of state for both and Temple would cost me ~16k more total for all four years (276k-temple vs. 261k-Pitt)

I am looking for anything to help my decision...thanks in advance

You need @maga1994. He knows a lot about both schools (he will be attending Pitt in the fall). I would pm him if I were you. I would choose Pitt since they have a decent amount of scholarships.

The price difference is pretty marginal in the long run. Choose a school that you think you will have the best time at. At the end of the day, you will be a competent dentist coming out of either school. But the journey to getting there will have been different

I say Pitt hands down. Loved it when I was there. Sadly turned them down before the second deposit was due. Their program has a lot to offer.

It all depends on if you are going for a more clinically or research strong program. For more research opportunities: Pitt. For more clinical exposure: Temple. Also consider the surrounding environment of pitt and temple

Did you get scholarships at both schools, or are your parents helping you pay?

If I got into Pitt and my state school (VCU), I'd have a hard decision on my hands.

I loved Pitt when I interviewed there and would highly recommend that school. I did not interview at Temple though so I can't say much.

Which school has newer facilities?

FWIW I loved my interview at pitt. The faculty treated me like family, and the students seemed to really enjoy being there. It was very tough to turn down their offer. One negative thing for me (could definitely be positive for others) was the location of the school. I grew up in a smaller town, so the big city feeling wasn't for me. Good luck!
