I've been...........
waitlisted. crap
............with no rank. double crap.
Congrats to everyone who's been accepted 🙂 and good luck to those still waiting.it will all be over soon
So how does the alternate list for Tennessee work? And does anyone know roughly how many people get called off the waitlist? Is there a separate waitlist for instate and out of state people or are we all on one waitlist? I'm out of state and wasn't accepted into my instate (because they hate me) and I've been waitlisted for Missouri so now I'm freaking out. I'm going to call but I just wanted to see if anyone on here knew anything.
Man I'm SO mad and happy at the same time, I think I'm going to explode.
p.s that was the most horrible waitlist letter I've ever read. i hope no one else gets one.

There is no way to predict how the wait list will move. In my class, 16 out of the 70 students starting came off waitlist. In the following year, NO ONE came off waitlist. I don't know how the Class of 2013 fared, but it could have been either way.
I got my UT letter today and was accepted!! yay 🙂 However, I will be turning it down since I have accepted a position at Auburn 😀. So hopefully one of you ISers will come off the waitlist! Good luck to everyone..
I was also accepted to UT- got my letter this evening. My spot will be going to another very deserving OOS'er however, as I recently received an acceptance to my IS school (big ups for IS tuition haha)
I really did like UT though and I thought all of the faculty and administration were SO nice!
Hi,
I was wondering if those numbers are for the IS or OOS waitlist?
Thanks!
Ah, I didn't get in again this year. Today was the second worst day of my life. Last year when I didn't get in was the first, obviously.

...Do all of the alternate letters say this? "....your position in rank order is high enough to make selection possible that may become available if initial offers are declined...." They make it sound like there is hope, but who knows, maybe they're just being kind.
Again, congrats to those that got in!
And thanks for listening to me vent.
Yup, I was waitlisted and my letter says the same thing. My mom said the same thing about the letter making it seem like there is hope but I think they are being kind and sugarcoating it...but that's just what I think and I'm still kinda mad so kindness isn't doing it for me at the moment.
I can tell you in our class people came that weren't even on the waitlist. I got waitlisted for class of 2010 and then just interviewed and was rejected for class of 2011 but I got a call in June saying they went through the waitlist and had open spots still... so don't give up hope if you were waitlisted.
Question for all the current students....was your orientation during the week or on the weekend, and how far in advance was it? Or do you think they already have this info planned and could I call them to find out this early?
My family is trying to plan a trip for the weekend before school starts and I'm trying to figure out if it's gunna work.
Yikes...ok, I might try calling the school to find out then. I don't want to miss orientation, but the trip is for Mom's 50th birthday.....
Are we going to be getting a books and supplies list soon (I'm guessing they're saving the bulk of the information and answers to our questions for a packet after we confirm that we will be attending, to save on postage and paper costs)?
Classes begin Wednesday, August 18th.
There is no deposit. They consider it a Gentleman's (or Lady's) agreement. If you've said you're coming, they hold your spot. This is the south, after all. 🙂
so I'm mildly paranoid about loosing my spot. ><
I didn't realize how hard it would be to find someone giving out rabies vaccines. My doctor's office thought I was crazy, and the Health Department is out of them. Wonder if UT has a student health clinic that gives them out?
Dang, I thought that someone had news about being moved off the wait list! Has anyone heard more for those people?

I'm 99% certain the student health clinic carries the vaccines. I don't know if requirements have changed, but they didn't require them for our class until the end of this semester since we start clinics in 2 weeks. You still have to pay for the vaccines but the student health insurance will cover a lot of the cost from what I understand from others in my class getting them (but it never hurts to check with insurance first).
I think you have to ask them to order the vaccine, because they don't stock it, but they are willing to order it. But when they do, you have to absolutely commit to a strict schedule to come in for the shots, and you have to pay for them up front. At least that's what I was told awhile back.
As for our insurance picking up the cost, is that new?
