Looking to see who else was accepted as early decision to Tennessee State University. Maybe a good place to talk about housing options or starting a FB group ect. Congrats all.

Same! I'm looking at apartments im from california so do you know of any good places in the area??

I'm from Nashville originally and living in East Nashville which isn't too far from TSU. East Nash has some good places for rent and there's an East Nashville rooms for rent fb page which is good. I can inbox you some other good places too.

Hopefully we can get a DPT Class of 2021 fb page started up soon

Hey, guys! Can't wait for classes to start! Let me know whenever we get a FB page started. I'm not sure if the program has one set-up or if we make our own?

Yea I think it would be best to wait to set the facebook page up till the general decisions are done with because I am pretty sure some seats were saved for early decision candidates.

On the TSU DPT page, it says they've already filled the class. I think they accepted a lot from ED

Oh no way?! That is sick the current students told me they stopped doing that a year or two ago. I guess the facebook page is a go. I can make one unless the school does that.

Anyone else accepted to TSU ED also finishing up a pre-req?

Yea I am doing 2 pre req. Classes in spring. I technically already have them done but I wanted better grades than the ones I had so I put them as planned courses.

Ok cool. I'm taking a pre-req in the spring too and I saw the acceptance letter said to maintain the GPA that was on the GPA calculator sheet.. I just didnt know if anybody had heard more about that. I was thinking about emailing them soon about it. Also, do we need to pay a deposit any time soon?

The deposit I believe is going to be requested when we receive the official acceptance letter from the graduate school which they stated would come within 8 weeks. I am sure there is some leeway in the "maintain" GPA statement, as long as you don't do terrible on your course to the point it tanks your GPA I think you will be okay.

Ok cool! Just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed any necessary deposit somewhere.

Haha yeah that makes sense about the class

Yeah, I'm finishing up Anatomy. The whole thing about maintaining the GPA scares me, though. I applied with a 3.7, and the Anatomy course I'm taking is a 6-credit hour class. If I get even just a B, my GPA drops 🙁

I honestly think you'll be okay. I'm not the admissions committee but you have technically been accepted and your GPA is way above what the minimal GPA for acceptance and I think its unlikely your admittance would be resecended for a B but if you failed the course then yes that would probably be an issue.

Did y'all see the recent email from TSU? Lots of cool info and looks like we have a class email now! Probably a good way to get a fb group together or something 🙂

Yea I did, the last statement involving students taking classes says your transcripts with the spring classes shown as "completed" must be sent in by registration. I don't know how early you guys are getting out but most schools here have spring semesters that don't end till mid may. With registration ending in April that would make me ineligible to register right?

Hopefully! What makes me nervous is the fact that they specifically said that the GPA we were accepted with is the one they expect us to have (or better) when we matriculate. I wonder if they have any wiggle room? Like maybe ~0.05 GPA points?

Thats something we should ask them none of us will have an answer to that.

Now that we have a Gmail account, would it be too soon to start a Facebook group page? I'm going to be in Tennessee for Christmas break, so I was hoping to be able to talk to future classmates about different areas of Nashville (where to live, where to avoid, etc.)

I emailed about registering without having an official transcript that shows completion of a pre-req. They said to send in an unofficial transcript as soon as possible before the registration period. Get the official one sent as soon as possible after the registration period. Contact Dr. Barredo to release you so that you can register. For maintaining the GPA, it just has to be the pre-req GPA and not the overall GPA, right?

No letter for me either yet. We should hopefully be receiving them by the end of this week if going by their timeline
