I shadowed a DO physician and I used either OMM or OMT, forgot which one, and he corrected me on it. Do you guys know which one conveys a better message? or which one is more widely accepted?

They're both the same to the best of my knowledge. I think people said OMM more at my school.

I kept saying OMM during my shadowing gig and the DO kept correcting me with OMT... haha.

OMM, OMT, OPP all refer to the same thing. It's like supper vs dinner.

I know some people who get mad at "OMM" is because of the word medicine. OMT has the redeeming word of therapy/treatment

OMM is the course you take to learn the craft. OMT is the billable treatment you perform on the patient.

This (above) is the answer.

OMM is like the subject itself, whereas OMT is the physical action/treatment. OPP is Osteopathic Principles & Practices. A lot of COMs call their OMM-specific course OPP, because it encompasses the medical actions, treatments, and principles/philosophy of the field. Not that it really matters, but to be safe, when you are talking about the actual treatments say OMT. When you're talking about the subject/field as a whole, say OMM. When you get in, you can call the course whatever your school calls it.
