I've searched through old posts and can't find a conclusive answer to my questions. My test is tomorrow at 16:00. I just had a couple of questions so that I don't have to stress about the process of test-taking and can keep my mind on test content. Thank you to anyone that helps me out.

1. I only need to bring 2 forms of ID, right? (passport/driver's license)
I don't need to print out anything (e-mail confirmation) or anything, do I?

2. Do they give you a place you can put your coffee/snack? I might also bring a sweatshirt in case the building is cold. Do I need to worry about what to do with my snacks and stuff?

3. How long does the check-in time take? My test is at 4:00, but I'm planning on getting there at like 3:00 just to be safe. That okay?

Thank you

1. Yes, passport and driver's license are plenty. I'd print out the e-mail confirmation just in case.

2. The test center I went to had individual lockers that you could put your personal belongings in that you could lock and remove the key.

3. Check-in time depends on how many other test takers are also scheduled for an exam. Remember, prometric administers many other tests so chances are that there will be several other people in the test center that AREN'T also taking the DAT. Getting there 1 hour in advance is more than enough - might even be too early... you don't want to have to sit around and "ice" yourself in the test center, but that's your call.

GOOD LUCK!

One more thing regarding your personal belongings - they don't allow you to bring ANYTHING except for the clothes on your back and your driver's license to the testing area. Everything else is required to go in your personal locker.

if you bring a sweater or something, make sure to wear it in to the testing area. if you get hot you can always take it off and just place it in your lap. but they will not let you walk in there without it being on your body. oh yea, i had a locker to keep my wallet, phone, keys, etc in with a removable key

At our testing center, once you have your jacket on you can not take it off. you would have to leave the room (while the exam is running of course) and take it off there.

I got to my testing center about an hour and a half ahead of my scheduled time, and they let me in right away. I had a 2pm saturday test, so yeah, if you get there, it's very possible that they'll let you start earlier.

BEST OF LUCK TO YOU - my advice is to spend like ten minutes slowly playing with the tutorial before your exam starts. That really calmed me down, and when I took it I felt like I was taking another topscore/achiever test.

same situation with the testing center that i was at today: either keep your overlayer on or do w/o it...there is no taking it off halfway thru exam. also NO HATS, not sure about yarmulkas for all my jewish brethren out here. probably not though...NO PERSONEL noise blocking devices either, ie no ar plugs. either use their air-wolf-esque headsets to block residual noise or do without. NO KLEENEX either. my allergies were killing me the whole test and all i could use was my t-shirt.
