so..how soon should we be looking for housing? ASAP as in now? or will there still be spots available in Javelina for us soon to be P1s in July/August?

I would look for housing right now. Javelina Station shouldn't be filled to capacity; the person I spoke with over there said that, especially for Spring semesters, they usually are not at full capacity. Now, housing is probably a whole lot less crowded at Kingsville than in a big city, but if you know you're going to be there next semester, you might as well get a head start.

Just a quick reminder for those who missed it: Javalina Station does not allow pets. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if there is anywhere else to live in Kingsville that is as new as JS.
 
Any of u girlys out there going to kingsville interested in a roomate?... I plan on living at Javalina Station and prefer to have live with someone who is in th program as well🙂,,so if any of you are interested just send me a message!...and COngrats to all!..See you all in the Fall!!!

Just wanted to say hi, i havent been on here in a week, I was super down about not getting accepted, so it took me a while to want to log back in... I am just leavin it up to God, he knows whats planned, and i just have to accept that!


How are all ya'll that got accepted! still excited? did anyone go out and celebrate at all?

Well I guess JS would be the best choice for us P1s if we wanted the newest.

I am curious if there are any apartments that are recommended by current students or people who have already scouted some out. Since JS is usually for P1s and then they move out, I'd rather not have to move again after just one year if I don't have to. Finding online apartment reviews is slightly difficult although according to apartmentratings.com, apple creek, seville apts and a few others are possible candidates.

Anyone want to make a suggestion?
 
I sent in my deposit today. I am still too excited right now to even think about all the moving and FAFSA stuff. I should get moving. There are now 6 members in the facebook group.

Judging from the current facebook demographics the school accepted 5 girls for every guy... I'm just saying.

I completed my FAFSA yesterday and I'm sending in my deposit and stuff this week. It seems odd but I will have to go further to the school post office than I would to the pharmacy school but I don't want to waste their pre-paid postage.

I have also already applied for Javelina Station.

so since you know kingsville so well..do you recommend all p1's to javelina station? do most people live with or without roomates there?
 
oh nevermind, it's more like a suite-type layout...4 people or 2 people rooms. sounds cool!

I put an extra stamp on mine because my envelope was fat by the time I had put all the silly forms in it.
 
I debated tearing the last page off the Technical Standards stuff and just sending that (with the other important items), but I wasn't sure about the legality of the document if it wasn't all together.

I also thought about sending in the last page but if they happened to need the whole thing I would've had to send it anyways. Oh well, minor things compared to us getting in right? 😉
 
I tore the last page out. Hopefully that won't cause any problems. Would May be too late to go to Kingsville and look at living arrangement?

if we were supposed to do that...then i'm in trouble. Isn't it ok if the envelope is thick? as long as it's flat and doesnt bulge out it should be 41 cents......... right?

Well, I was told that the weight was too high for the $0.41. Then again, the postal service in my area has become very bad as of late; I wouldn't be surprised if their scales were messed up.

Worst case, they'll probably send it to ILRCoP with a postage due notice.

Someone complained to me about the higher than normal percentage of males at A&M for the last two years, but it looks like things may be different now.

[Edit] Btw, I was totally wrong: I thought more females had applied. These demographics are from the first class.
Applied: 250 males 329 females (http://www.aacp.org/Docs/MainNavigation/InstitutionalData/8232_Applications.pdf)
Accepted: 42 males 34 females (http://www.aacp.org/Docs/MainNavigation/InstitutionalData/8234_Enrollments.pdf)

That's what people keep telling me: God has a plan, and if He wants you to get in you will. However, I'm not so fatalist; I'm more of a transworld depraved existentialist.

Anyways, don't give up hope until after the 21st; after that, I'd give up hope(for this year). 😀
 
Has anyone received confirmation that the College received your deposit and forms?

Im so gonna feel like Forest Gump when i say this but my momma always says.... God never takes something from your hands that he is not going to replace with something better. If i don't get in to Kingsville after the 21st, then maybe his plan was to have me stay closer to home (in San Antonio), where my friends and family are.

Were you waitlisted as well? if so, hope you get some good news on the 21st. 😀

Well I'm on campus in my dorm and can't leave... I was gonna go eat and then church.

I'm just glad I got out of organic lab early today... there are some people still in afternoon classrooms.

[Update] Suspects armed and unarmed apprehended... area secured... I'm free.
 
Hi everyone! I know it's been a while and I'm kinda late at this but I GOT ACCEPTED to TA&MCOP!!!!!!!😀

Haha just wanted to throw that in! Where's that banana icon that dances?😀

I called the admissions office about what to do afterwards and an advisor told me that they will notify us to come to an orientation sometime in june. There, they will discuss financial aid, housing, etc.



AND THEN just yesterday, I received anOTHER acceptance letter from my #1 choice!!!!!!! Finally, the wait is over!

CONGRATS to everyone!🙂

what?! there's orientation in JUNE?! but we if we want to go on vacation?

and i have not gotten any confirmation about my deposit/acceptance either.

That is rather inconvenient. I was planning to move at the very end of June, but now it looks like I'll have to make an 800 mile trip before that.

Yeah I had asked about the June thing on the facebook wall... I remember the Pharmacy student closing guy talking about that in our interview group.

I'm still going on a vacation somewhere else with my family though. I'll just be taking off from work quite a bit... they won't mind - they love me I think.

I'll probably find a way to stay with a friend so as to avoid hotel expenses... one of the perks of being here already I guess.

Gas is becoming a killer though...

I just found the certified mail receipt for when I sent in my application. It took seven days to get there. When did the postal service get so lousy?

I sent my deposit on Monday, so hopefully it won't take longer than seven days.

Wait listed? I don't know. I didn't get an acceptance or a rejection letter -i know they don't send 'em out-, but if my name isn't on some list -a "waitlist," if you will- I'm gonna be pissed. 🙂

Anyway, I think that will be the case for me too: staying closer to home(San Antonio), UT or UIW.

When they started contracting out so much of their labor. I've had two checks not show up at my local post office 😡 in the last two years -and that was to a PO Box so they weren't stolen out of the mailbox.

I've gotten to the point that if it is important to me that something get where it is going I send it priority mail, even if it doesn't have to be there in a timely manner. I feel like they handle priority mail better than "first class" mail. :meanie: Everything I've sent in the application process has been through priority mail.
 
I think I'll give the priority mail thing a try for important stuff. I wish I would have done that for my deposit.
 
Is A&M pharmacy a 3 or 4 year program? does anyone know?

Yeah, it is a four year program. During the second and third years you do some kind of internship one day a week. The fourth year consists entirely of rotations. I think we get summers off.
 
I recently got accepted into another school that is up there with A & M. I like both of the schools so much. If only A & M was in Houston!

Did they? They haven't deposited mine yet. Although I did call and confirmed they received my forms and deposit.
