Texas applicant- need advice!!

Ok so here is my situation-

I've already applied mid June to all texas schools, and I've already taken my DAT. I got 19 AA/20 TS/16 PAT and I also had a 16 in QR. I've already interviewed at Baylor. Do you think I should retake my DAT's to make myself more competitive or shall I just wait to hear from the other schools (retake will be in september so I dunno if that is too late)? Will those 16's really hurt my chances? Also, I haven't sent in my secondaries for out of state. Should I do so right away along with my first set of DAT scores?

I would really really appreciate any input. Thanks 🙂

I think the decision to retake is dependent on what your GPA is. However, since you have already interviewed at Baylor, I imagine you will hear from Houston and San Antonio with your current scores, it just might be taking a little longer. I had a lower DAT score (not sure what your GPA is) and I was accepted to all 3 Texas schools. And you should definitely send in your secondaries. You should send them in as you get them, and not wait, because you get further down the list for application review and interview consideration the longer you wait.

In my opinion, you should proceed with whatever course of action that will give you peace of mind. I am not an admissions officer, but I think you have good stats. But there are many more intangibles in the process than GPA and DAT. An excellent LOR or personal statement can make a difference in getting accepted; however, stats are important in terms of getting an interview. Baylor is VERY competitive so, I believe, you should hear from San Antonio and Houston soon.

I think that the other two schools are just slow moving. I applied in mid-July to all three texas schools, and took my DAT 2 weeks ago. Literally 2 days later after faxing them my scores, Baylor sent me a letter for an interview invite and I have heard nothing from the other two schools. In fact, Houston (where I want to go) never even sent me confirmation letter that they recieved my application. I'm not sure about the retake, I mean your AA and TS are really good, the only thing I would be worried about it the PAT score.

My stats are: 20/22/20 and 3.84 GPA, 3.6 sGPA Mbio major, Chem minor

By the way, how was the Baylor interview....Mine is on the 24th.
