hahah this thread has become crazy. man i'm glad rice is so solitary that we don't have huge rivalries haha.

and yea LMFU probably just means the list has been submitted. last year my LMFU changed with other people's, and they got accepted and i was rejected. so who knows what's going on.

Yeah, show some respect to the gods, or else we might ALL have to pay for your carelessness!

Take me, for example--of the 20 or so times that I have made reference to my "Validation Date," not one time have I given in to the temptation to abbreviate it. 😛 Now, that's the kind of reverance that I hope will pay off in the end...but so far, I've gotten nada from the gods of TMDSAS. 🙄

And the reason they are standing like that is because they are surrounding Reveille (the first lady of A&M) to exit the stadium in a protective formation. They pack tightly so that no one can get between them and take her/hurt her/ whatever. You know protecting our mascot (but she is NOT a mascot, she's the first lady!) Kinda like when Bevo has to come under armed guard to get his/her (its a steer does it even have a gender) shots at the A&M vet school.

Oh and I'm sure its because its some form of hazing for the fish. Fish are freshman, specifically in the corps.

The clip in question is not hazing. Officers and University Officials take hazing charges very seriously, I heard that from the mouth of Current Secretary of Defense Robert Gates several times...........and you think there aren't frat boys at Texas who do things that look a little weird? Please.

If you think t.u. versus A&M is great, you should read the mail call the Battalion (our newspaper). Aggies arguing how aggie something is. It can be intense.

Ugh - that guy was single-handedly responsible for stopping my daily ritual of reading the paper. He actually wrote an article entitled "Intolerance is a virtue"

I agree. What a jack@$$. Between his comparison to smoking and drugs, and his reference to homosexuality as a "choice" with no proof other than his own opinion (I wonder at what point in his life he "chose" to be a heterosexual), he lost any grasp at the logical argument for which he was aiming.

Not recognizing it only infuriates Satan more. Take me for instance. Ever since I accepted Lucifer as the creator and mediator of LMFU dates I have not received one update. Please, I beg all of you, just admit the LMFU is from hell and it will return there. IT'S IN REVELATIONS PEOPLE!! If I may provide a quote: "If thou takes from satan his right, his last and ultimate final masterful update, the good (pre-med students) will feel his wrath. Not tilst the all-powerful lastus masterous file updatimus is returned will Satan withdraw to the pits of eternal damnation. When he leaves, the powers of heaven will shine upon the Earth forever sealing the beast in his domain."

at least at this point LMFUs seriously don't guarantee an acceptance/rejection...I remember last year's thread was like that....

so LMFUs change or don't change! i don't care for you!! 😛

and finally we see some aggie vs. texas trash talking. LOL. its even more amusing since i didn't go to either. heheh

Yeah - we had a mutual friend and I actually go into it face to face with him once. Such a *****. 😡

I also loved the Batt opinion article where they said we should have an agency similar to M15 in Britian.... yup that's right, M15. The whole article and the headline about a dozen times... NO ONE CAUGHT IT. Idiots. 🙄
 
There is no way that the new LMFU change is just the school submitting the ranking. I interviewed at TAMU and my LMFU didn't change since december.. I'm smelling rejection ... 🙁
 
When did most of you guys apply this year? My processing date was 092006. I suspect that's the reason I only got one interview. Did anyone apply later and get multiple interviews?
 
yeah, my processing date is 10/04 and I got interview for every texas school except texas tech and tcom (which i didn't apply for)

im pretty sure lmfu 21207 is an acceptance...i am thinking it is either Tech alone or a combo of Tech and A&M
 
hahah don't be so sure falco. i got burned big time with that thinking last year.

sorry if i burst your bubble. it just hurt a lot getting my hopes up and falling so far.

yeah i would not be so sure if i did not have a new Tech acceptance on the multiple acceptances tab
 
Now that Yourmom25 has touched on the subject of *not* getting in...

How are you guys planning on finding out the Match results on the 15th? I mean, will you be alone? ...on the phone with your mom or your boy/girlfriend? Will you be drunk? ...on prophylactic Valium? 😀 Do you plan to wait until the morning of the 15th (as opposed to checking it at midnight)?

Also, does anyone think that they might do something crazy if they get in/don't get in? (Interpret 'crazy' however you wish.)

As for me, I'll prolly be alone that night. (Yes, I know it's V-day, but I just started dating a new guy, and I'm not sure if we're gonna go out...it's a bit too intense for a new relationship). 😉
 
If my future was really riding on the match I'd probably check like I checked my MCAT score...

EXTREMELY drunk with friends and family around to comfort me/congratulate me.

I was totally drunk when I checked my MCAT score... I had problems adding up the numbers. :laugh: that's a bad sign 😉
 
Man, there is quite alot of chit chat about A&M and Texas (or should I call them m.&.a.?- wow that stuff is annoying), and I sort of feel that UT is slightly underrepresented in this discussion. I would just like to say one thing:

ALBEIT WE JUST GOT CREAMED IN BASKETBALL...

There is a reason that there are four University of Texas sanctioned medical schools in Texas, and that plenty (CLEARLY NOT ALL) of you out there would prefer to attend- or are attending- their 'institutions of higher learning' over your alma mater's. So why continue to dis on the school system that you will be (or wish to be) attending? Clearly in some way, shape, or form you find it superior to your own...

I'm just saying!

Sadly, it is this same logic that will place this sub-par candidate outside the range of the UT System med schools...🙁

Congrats to you all- best wishes to everyone. 2 more long boring days of doing nothing.

Lol Ana, I was thinking of doing something similar... Get drunk and have a good friend who won't freak out if I start sobbing uncontrollably+pity+ to come over for support. Hey, if I'm not gonna match, I'm gonna have fun with it! :meanie:

You hear that, TMDSAS?? You can crush my dreams, but you can't steal my joy!! Yay for alcohol!! :clap:

Haha, I totally did the same thing for my MCAT score!!! 😀 (used wine tho, not recommended if you want to survive the next day 😛 )

Consensus (from the small sample size we have here) is that it has to do with A&M or Tech. Whether or not it is acception/rejection, many speculate that it is an acceptance, I personally don't know.

EDIT: Nevermind I'm so confused now about 2/12. Don't flame me on this post.
 
i'm sooo probably getting an ulcer from all this worrying. :scared:

just a couple more days...kind of feels like a bandage being peeled off real sloooow.

I also an hoping that it's an acceptance. My LMFU is now 2/12/07 and was not updated since the day after I was accepted to TCOM prematch.

However... I don't think it's Tech or A&M because I didn't interview at either.

1. UTMB
2. UTHSCSA
3. TCOM (prematch)

We'll see!!!

I have heard that ppl have been accepted w/o Validation Dates. I have also noticed that UTH and SW don't seem to have anything to do w/all the recent activity that's got everybody so worked up.

Anyway, there are still 2 more days! We could ALL get in! Wouldn't that be the coolest?! 😀

Now how's that for positivity? :luck:

okay i got it! sooo remember there were lotsa of ppl with multiple acceptances that declined? well all those spots are ours for the taking! aaaand baylor isn't even done yet so even after match there's still hope!!

For me it was a friend who aimed me saying it was out earlier than midnight, so I tried logging in and the servers were way bogged down, I was throwing my mouse around in a frenzy. Finally saw my scores. Refreshed to check it again and the site went out on me so I cracked open a beer told my roomate, then headed to 6th street.

At least with people who got that "fluke" we know there ARE spots open! And that's SUPER good considering some people were freakin that everyone was full already (which we all really knew they weren't). And the more spots that open from people who had pre-match offers just leads to a trickle down. This is a good thing! The stupid LMFU (please forgive me tmdsas!) and validations dates are just teasers. (someone should make an analogy for that). And besides, there is nothing you can do but wait. You could always bake or crochet like mad until the match! 🙂
 
Thanks everyone for the kind words!

Today has sucked though. I'm pretty sure I failed a test that I didn't study for, I postponed doing work that is now piled up for tomorrow, and got a ticket on my way home 👎
