I can't believe we'll soon be 2 hours into the last day!! After the long, slow wait, this last day is flying by fast!🙂 ...a bit too fast for me...I'm kinda getting scared!:scared:
 
I just posted in another thread, which I had never done before, I swear.

I feel so dirty now...like an SDN ho. 🙁

I'm a geek (let's just get that out of the way) and hack the TiVos. I think my largest is now 500 hours, so space ends up not being a problem. My wife and I curse TiVo for taping so much stuff in "Suggestions" that we always stumble across new things to waste time watching.

It's physically impossible to watch that much TV (I think) it's mostly for the Multi-Room Viewing capability. I have no more than 2 per room (2 in the Living Room -- 1 High-Def and 1 regular DirecTiVo, 2 in the Bedroom -- 1 DirecTiVo and 1 Standalone, and 1 in my workout room.) I like the TiVo interface and how it makes it easy to not only share shows between TiVos, but also all of my music and pictures (so much easier than busting out the box of pictures of the kids for whomever is visiting -- just do a slideshow with TiVo instead.)

I probably shouldn't admit to being this much of a geek, but I just can't help it.

I personally love TiVo and aspire to own as much of it as you one day. Maybe I should try to get some stock in it...

classes are cancelled today so we can stay home and wait for the match!!!

(or b/c its like 0F outside and covered in snow)

Yeah, it's kind of a joke. We get .1 inches of snow and the world closes down for us. Not that I'm complaining. (Although we didn't get any snow here today, it's freezing cold). :laugh:
 
My plans today are to go to class till 1pm, go running, and buy some beer. At 9:30 Borat is playing at the dollar theater. How freakin perfect is that? I'll mossy on out of the theater around 11pm drink a few more beers and the match will magically appear. Todays gonna be a good day I can feel it!

Wow! I didn't realize they had a TiVo just for HD... I should tell my dad about that.

I've never been one for TV but he loves watching movies and he has this MASSIVE HDTV (65")... It's like a member of the family. Seriously I wish I lived in a more central location. I'd have you guys over for a post-match party.

Hi all. I've been reading this message board for many months now so I'm sorry I haven't said hi sooner, but I figured it was about time. You all seem like a pretty interesting bunch. Anyway, I just wanted to wish everyone luck with the match tonight.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm loving this mix of anxiety and excitement!! ...it kinda feels like going straight downhill in the front car of a roller coaster!! 👍 😀
 
I'm in College Station so if anyone else is in the area (you know the general area, Snook, North Zulch, Madisonville, Bryan, Wellborn, Caldwell, Hearne, Calvert, Normangee, you know the area 😉) pm me and we'll celebrate/drink our cares away, whichever the occasion calls for 🙂

Does anybody know what it will say next to "school matched" if the school we prematched to is also the school we ranked first? Will it just post that school, or will it not post anything at all since technically no "match" occurred?
 
Hey..It seems like everybody is getting drunk before the big moment. I was planning on waiting until afterwards to get drunk.....is this unorthodox idea bad........??😕

I did, they are both taken however. They did say they would treat me as a backup plan if their current plans fall through so there is hope!
 
dallas folks!

i'm thinking margarita ranch at mockingbird station. everyone waiting for "the match" should identify themselves with pitchers of margaritas on their table!

I don't think people are necessarily going to be completely drunk before the match, it's simply going to be a rolling start (hate to reference NASCAR). If you have worked very hard, as I have, in undergrad to develop a significant tolerance level, then this is absolutely essential. Otherwise, it will simply take too long. 😀

Funny story. I stayed with a student the night before my interview and he said he got so plastered that he remembered checking the match at 11:30 but passed out drunk before 12. His mom called him the next morning (this guy is now in a surgery residency!!!).
 
Maybe this has been posted already. If you don't match but instead get waitlisted/deferred or rejected outright, what does it say next to "School Matched"?

it would say "Did Not Match" and the schools themselves would then contact you if you are on the waiting list...
 
It's snow day, no school and I'm stuck here in my room thinking about match day.. ahhh... SDN is totally saving me because none of my friends are from Texas and they have no idea what the Match is.
