1)For the Tech secondary, I keep reading about needing signing up for an email account there or something. I am working on it now, but havent come across anything of the sort.
2)For TCOM do we need an EUID (whatever that is) or just navigate to the application page with what looks like a normal login.
3) 🙁 No one told me Baylor has a secondary!

Yep, Baylor's got a secondary. I made sure when I turned in TMDSAS that my optional essay was under 2000 chars so that I could use it for Baylor. 😀

Tech will send you instructions with how to set up your email account after they receive your stuff.

Baylor's secondary is online.. don't worry, you're not "late"

So you guys with interview days.. when's your LMFU
 
For the TCOM secondary, I completed it a few weeks ago after navigating through their secondary application link. It prompted me to create my own login/password combination. About a week later, I got an email from TCOM saying they'd received my application from TMDSAS and gave me a login to proceed with my secondary.

I emailed them saying I'd already completed the secondary and they just "fixed the glitch". A day or two later, I got my invite. It probably would have been simpler had I just waited until they gave me their login, but I didn't realize that's how it worked.
 
mine was processed june 23, invite yesterday... and my LORs still arnt in

How do I check my TCOM status? I have no idea where the "portal" is, or if I have an ID....??

First, Tech emails a week before the interview so be prepared to pay alot maybe they have some partnership with SouthWest lol J/k. For those of you that are going to the UTMB interview have fun everyone is very nice. UTSW has alot of up tight people but it is what you make it. Again good luck C/o 2012
 
Spoke with TCOM this morning. Interview scheduled for 7/27. That's going to come up on me quickly.😱

Thanks. I'm looking forward to it. It'd be nice to have a couple more in the bag within the next few months. I hope that's the advantage for getting my app in early. I'll use any advantage I can get.
 
Hell I just hope to get something somewhere eventually.. other than these stupid secondaries which will surely just be a waste of time and money.

So long as the interview is between August-October, I wouldn't care if I only interviewed at UT-H.
 
is having an interview in aug. a sign of almost guaranteed acceptance? or is it just b/c i submitted my app early?

Don't jump to conclusions. It just means that you aren't interviewing for a waitlist spot yet.

It is most certainly the latter. It's good that we've made that first cut, but I am not getting my hopes up at all. I'll still be extremely happy to have just one acceptance.

i was only asking b/c i knew an applicant who interviewed very early at a med school and all of the students there were telling her that having such an early interview was a sure sign she would get in (and she ended up getting in).

Yeah. I'd love it if that were the case, but I think it has more to do with getting the application in early. I won't even consider anything close to a guarantee until the ink is dry on an acceptance letter. I can't be sure how much applying early helps with my chances, but it certainly can't hurt.

Honestly doctobe, I hope and pray that's what the situation is. I hope that's reality for us. UTMB is my most realistic top choice (by that I mean it's my highest choice that I'm most likely to get in, it's second only to UT Southwestern, and even so, I'd have a hard time picking just based on what I've read about the curricula, student body, and board scores at both schools). But I just can't let myself get my hopes up or get too excited, because the possibility and pain of letdown is high. I as much as anybody believe in being confident and absolutely putting that best foot forward, but with a game like medical school application, you just never know.
 
well your application was obviously impressive enough to be worth interviewing early, so that's probably a good sign that you'll get several interviews in TX and have a very good shot at getting accepted.

don't count your chickens just yet, but I think it's a good sign.
 
I think it was more curiosity than assumption.
 
I know it's very early in the process, but does anyone know when schools will start sending out email invitations? I guess UTMB and TCOM are already at it, but wasn't sure about the others.

UTSW: Probably not until August as they don't start looking through applications until then (straight from an adcom).
 
I interviewed at UT-H on Aug 24 and had interviews as late as early March. Early is good but it assures nothing. Interviewing late as the number of seats dwindle definitely sets a higher bar for not getting waitlisted.

It's possible that things have changed since I got this info around late-May, but with the UTSW website still saying that interviews will start in September, we're still looking at August before we hear anything. The e-mail might be another way to say they've received your app (since not everyone has gotten it I'm guessing), but we'll never know, will we?
 
I'm a little bit confused with those who say that they have received interview invites w/o their lor's. not that I dont believe you, but tmdsas says that they wont send incomplete applications. to those of you who fall in this boat, do your status pages say that your initial processing has not yet occurred? They already cashed my check and I submitted about two weeks ago so I'm wondering how far away I am. My premed office could take up to three more weeks to get letters out which is strange because all they do is staple them together and make copies for later, but thats another story entirely.....

by the way, congrats to those that have already received invites, im hoping to join yall soon.
 
applications are considered complete without LORs. my application was processed & sent to schools and my LORs haven't been sent yet.

Not 100% sure on this but I believe they will process (send to the schools) applications without the LOR's. Their main concern from the sounds of it is a cleared check, certification page, photos, and the cleared check.

tmdsas absoluely processes and sends out your application without LORs and it says so in the status page. they sent mine out seperately and i got an interview without LORs BUT i think that some schools wont look at your app until you have it all in... so i guess that part depends on the school.

It took them about two weeks to process mine so i would say you are really close to having it sent to schools, from there it took another week for UTMB, right now im just crossing my fingers i will get more!
 
did people with tcom invites have LORs in? just curious

No UTMB love here yet...a MD/Ph.D. buddy close to the admissions folks says their might be an unwritten MCAT cutoff for UTMB this year. I don't think I'll hold my breath.

If I was processed and sent on 6/13 should I be concerned yet?? I just don't understand how I can be on the waitlist and not get another interview...🙁

Wait, what do you mean? "Another" interview? I seriously doubt anyone is on the actual "waitlist" at this point - it's very early, and I think the UTMB interview invites that have been sent out so far are based on numbers. Because they sent me the interview invite just 6 days after they got my app. That feels to me like they just ran it through a computer program. So no worries, I'm sure LOTS more interviews are going to go out, especially when they start looking at PS, LORs, ECs, etc.
 
I guess I'll be getting no love from UTMB. I was also sent on 6/13 and haven't heard anything.

guess my numbers are too low.
 
i got an UTMB invite with a 29, i dont think its based on numbers
