That place is wonderful. Go to dinner with a group. Only two things on the menu though. I'd say order the fajitas!
 
TAMU's status page says that they emailed interview invites today. Not to me, unfortunately, but I thought that I would put that out there in case anyone missed it.

I just got my LORs sent out last thursday... so im not sure if they were part of the decision. I got a UTMB invite without them...
 
I'm a freshman, how hard is to get in UT Southwestern? I really want to go there.

Difficult. I still can't believe how I got an interview to UTSW last year!! 😱 They're mostly numbers based...so you've gotta have a stellar MCAT and GPA.

So maybe the 7/13/07 LMFU date change that a few of us were experiencing correlates with the San Antonio interview invite. The letter from SA was postmarked 7/13/07 incidentally.

Also, Armybound my LORs were sent in a week or two ago. I cant make sense of why some people get interviews with them and some without.

I'm pretty excited. I've never been to San Antonio!!
 
I just can't help but wonder if it's my LORs or my low GPA or something else that's keeping me from getting any attention. I hate this stupid thread. 🙂

People, please, enough with the LMFU. I had an interview invite, and a letter receipt and neither effected my LFMU. Why would a UTSA invite change the LMFU, but a Tech invite wouldn't? Why not the letter receipt? They literally went into my file on 6/28/2007 and added that my letters were received, but my LMFU was still on 6/20/2007-my verification date.

Besides, didn't Armybound also get an LMFU update on 7/13, but no UTSA (yet) invite?

Vote NO to LMFU. 👎

a&m secondary page changed. first interview invites were sent out today. still haven't gotten any though🙁
 
Hey, my LMFU was 7/13 and I got an interview invite for San Antonio! Congrats Diana! Is yours on 8-13? I smell a studentdoc party on the riverwalk! Jk. The LMFU saga continues:

Unremarkable, AggieSean, and DianaUT all had LMFUs of 7-13 and all got interview invites at UT SA. We have nothing else in common except that. The scientific method tells me there's some correlation. Congrats to all who got interviews!
 
If I get that interview as well (don't know because I think I was sent out 2nd cycle), then you guys are welcome to stay at my house (i'm from san antonio). I could show you the city. Here's to hoping I get that interview date as well or else I won't be in town.

has anyone specifically gotten an invite from TAMU? I read the earlier posts that say that TAMU has started giving out invites today, but no one has said that they have an invite. Hmm....


Also, my LMFU has changed. it now shows 07/16, but i haven't received anything in email. Perhaps tomorrow will be my lucky day.....😀

I looked at the status page and they said they were having some sort of technical problems earlier. Then they said that it was resolved . . . but I didn't see anything so I was sort of sad 🙁.

my lmfu is 7/13 and i got no news....maybe they hate reapplicants? i'm gonna grab a whiskey sour...
 
:idea:Here is my hypothesis on LMFU:

About once a month, TMDSAS sweeps through and updates your file with any new info including interviews, letters, no change, etc, and not necessarily coinciding with a particular event. For those who were verified 6/13, they were all LMFU'd on 7/13.

Lets here it, for those LMFU'd on 7/13, what was your verify date?

And those who verified on 7/20, what does your LMFU say? Is it 7/16 like mine?

Lets put this to rest, please answer.

Have invites to UTMB and TCOM (didn't apply to Tech...cause they are stinky)

Submitted 6/8, not sure when it was confirmed or whatever.

GPA: 3.89 BCMP: 3.94

MCAT: 34R
 
does UT Southwestern they give preference to UT Dallas applicants since they're almost right next to each other.

Uh no, I don't think so. UTSW accepts people from everywhere and the only common similarity in those who are accepted is usually they have great stats or average stats + URM status/something extraordinary.

I was processed 6/13, LMFU was 6/11 initially, now it is 7/13. I've been lucky to get a TCOM and SA interview.
 
For those of you who got UTSA interviews, what the invite by email or phone call?
 
Howdy everyone. I'm brand new over here, but I have been enjoying reading everyones posts for the past couple of days. I just recieved my first invite yesterday from utsa for the 13th. I wanted to ask if there were any stats out there that had the percetage that are accepted out of everyone who interviews?

164/864 = 22.2% matriculated

Do keep in mind though that many more were accepted but decided to go elsewhere. Also, it really does depend on when you interview (not that you need to worry).
 
I just got the e-mail from UTMB. Processed 6/20/07 without a LMFU change. I'm pretty sure now that UTMB notifies selectees every Tuesday.

I just got an invite from UTMB!! that makes Tech, TCOM, and UTMB for me!! so excited! now, i'm waiting for UTSA...come on...


my LMFU was 07/16. I dont know if this corresponds with UTSA or UTMB.

wtf, UTMB?! you're starting to make me nervous/angry. i'm on your waitlist, SURELY you'd at least give me another interview this cycle....ugh

I just wish my application would actually get processed. I submitted and had my money received 7/2 and still nothing! -_-

By the way: TMDSAS officially says this about LFMU (so it can finally be put to rest):
B. Last Master File Update – date reflects the last date ANY change was made to the application (MCAT score, schools attended, address change, status change, etc.)

90% of the frustration is usually caused by waiting for other people to do things, whether it be writing LORs, sending LORs, getting your transcripts in, verifying your application, etc.

While that may be the intention, I don't think it always happens. I had two modifications made to my application, the first an update to the list of non-TMDSAS schools I applied to, the second an addition of a community service activity, neither of which changed my LMFU. The best I can surmise is that the date isn't automatically changed or that the back-end is so poorly coded that it doesn't catch all modifications. Either way, it's absolutely inconsistent.

I think we can all agree that a LMFU change doesn't mean anything by itself. But, specific actions seem to reliably change the LMFU, so people drive themselves crazy trying to guess "backwards," as it were. It seems that everybody with a UTSA invite had their LMFU changed.
 
I just got a UTMB interview...my first! I was processed on 6/20, and my MCAT and LOR's were received in the next week or two after that.
 
If people say "I have an interview!", can you give us the date of your interview and your stats plz?
