Do keep in mind though that there's a wait time of about 2-3 weeks from when your application has been submitted to when it's processed and sent out to schools.

Acceptances OOS? How many people in Texas actually bother to complete the AMCAS app the first time aroudn unless they are *godly* applicants?

Yeah, I have a pretty good reason. two of my mentors (UT-H doctors and on adm. comm.) said my personal statement is good but needs refining. So thats what I'm doing now...And I know it takes 2-3 weeks but atleast I'm not as late as I thought I was...

I know how many people have submitted, I have already checked it out online, so thanks for that information. Do you not have anything else to do except respond negative to posts? I don't care how many applicants have submitted. I have favor, a GREAT deal of favor and no one is going to take my spot if its for me. So good luck to you in your application process but I know i'll be fine...Thanks!

Oh, and even though there has been 2200 applicants, their applications will not be reviewed in order, it will be random...
 
Hey folks...huge screw up here. I cleaned out my trash folder in outlook and deleted my TCOM invite that had directions etc...😳

I think it was a pretty generic email. Would anyone mind emailing theirs to me? I'm heading out to Ft. Worth on Thursday. Thanks in advance.

Sorry. I try not to be negative. I just want to give people info that they may not have. With all the stories of Texas applicants on SDN getting shafted mostly because of when they submitted their app, I guess I end up propagating the fear. 🙁

Oh? Is someone eyeing Baylor or UTH? I'll happily go to whatever school I'm accepted to (I don't really expect multiple offers) so I'm not quite off your radar yet! The game is afoot! :laugh:

Anyway, I need more friends than enemies. I just cry every time I see someone with a 38 and aiming for Southwestern.

I have a 38, and am aiming for Southwestern.

But fret not! That 38 comes with a 3.39 gpa.

I think a 28 MCAT, 3.8 gpa is better off than I am in Texas.

It's ok. I don't mean to make others feel bad or myself. It's just too many people squeezing through a tiny door. Only so many can get in. 🙁
 
Just remember, you don't need a 38 to get an interview with UTSW 😉 They probably won't give me another one this year...but they put me on the waitlist last year so I can't be too bad, right?? :laugh:

I still need to turn that secondary in. "500 words or less..." I'm at 125. *sigh*
 
How long does it take TMDSAS to update your application status once they receive your certification page, app fee, and photos? I know they should have gotten it Monday but no update. But they got my transcript yesterday and have already put that on my page.
 
It took 2-3 days for me, but I sent my stuff in at the end of May. They could be a lot busier now and therefore the time could be longer.

Does anyone's Texas Tech page still say they haven't received LORs? My advisor sent mine in about a month ago and TCOM recieved around that time. I'm just wondering if Texas Tech really is that slow. . .

I read in another thread Tech has a 3 week backup on LORs.

Regarding Tech's processing....Someone in the Admission's Office told me the coordinator who was in charge of processing LOR's and the such had been on a two-week vacation. Don't know if that's true or not, but it was taking a long time for me too. Every time I would login to their status update page it would tell me pending/incomplete. That has changed now and I'm complete.

The girl told me that they had a few bags of stuff that was waiting to be processed for all applicants, so I think everyone is being delayed somewhat at Tech and it's not just your application that is being delayed. I think we are all in the same boat with their school. Hope this helps!
 
I was also wondering for those that may have had interview invites to Tech already...Do they notify you through your regular e-mail or through the TTUHSC outlook e-mail that is set up through them?

And for A&M...notify by e-mail or through their secondary status update page? I think I saw someone say they had an interview request through this status page. May be wrong, but just wondering. Thanks.

booooo, LMFU 7/19, nothing in the mail. LORs aren't in. no love from UTHSCSA 🙁 (sorry i needed to whine)
 
hey some good news regarding lor's. I neurotically check my status page, etc. so i know within the hour or so that something comes in and i just got my letters showing as TMDSAS having them. The thing is though that although they showed up today (7/25) they say they received them on 7/20. i sent them to tmdsas on 7/17, so its relatively quick to process and send those out. best of luck with everybody else trying to get this horrible part of the app done...

The even cooler thing was that my LORs were sent electronically via Interfolio and they showed up the next day. How on earth did people survive this process without the Internet?!?!? 😱

i do have my lors in to all schools, and my lmfu hasn't been changed since 7/13

Thanks, yeah my LORs have been in for a while. I just got more good news about an invite to Tech, but the date I could do that they offered me was October 12 in El Paso

Hi i'm new here, but I think I saw that you went to Baylor. I go there too and I called the pre-health office and they said that they were swamped with LOR requests and they didn't know how long it would take them to be sent out. I'm sure you've called, but I thought I'd share what I was told. Thanks!

yep, I stopped by to speak with her yesterday. Since Mrs Johnson is the only person who does the evaluations, it's pretty much up to her as far as when things will get done.

I was lucky and she agreed to move me to the "front of the line," though I don't know when it will actually be done.
 
How long did it take A&M to electronically verify your LORs? Their site says 2 weeks, but I've been waiting over a month.
 
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! My letters were sent in today!!!!!!!! Ay, my pre-med office is so slow. They told me 5 weeks ago I was 10th in line. But at least they're in!!!!!!!!!!
 
Well...I'm heading north tomorrow morning for my interview at TCOM. Get to spend tonight researching: restaurants, bars, wait....research, curriculum, you get the idea. Looking forward to visiting Ft. Worth for the first time. I'll post up when I get back. If anyone else is interviewing hope to see you there.
