woohoo, TMDSAS now lists my LORs as received, hopefully now that I'm "complete" I can get some interviews.

no LMFU when they added my LORs though.. weird.

armybound, what date did your lors get sent to austin?

To receive interviews, does the order in which schools consider you change if you submit your secondaries more than a couple of days after the primary app processing date? How long did each secondary take most of you?

Anyone else?

*pokes head in here, looks left and right, ducks back out.

I got mine sent via Interfolio electronically and they were posted the next day. If it's snail mail, I'd expect to wait quite a bit longer though.

It was sent out on 6/13 with a correction made on the app at the end of june. Also my LORs werent up online until the 7/23

Geez, San Antonio is still working through the first batch of applications? They need to be more like UTMB and get with the program!

Yes they need to really get with it before some of us die of paranoia!

Yeah! Finally! My first interview...TCOM called me around 11am to let me know I interview on AUG 28...I am now just praying for a UTH, UTMB or esp. UTHSCSA!! Congrats to everyone with all those stellar scores and interviews!😀

Damn, you and I are so close in numbers... I hope that I am just not hearing something because I was processed on 7/3 :meanie:

I've heard that if I haven't applied to TCOM, I should have a solid reason supporting that. As of now, all I have is that my experience and desire has only been within the MD fields. Earlier on, most DOs used to go on to practice only family medicine, but nowadays reasearch and specialty opportunities are increasing.
Any help on what should be said if that question is posed? Thanks a million!!!

Why not that reason, then? More established research opportunities/unfamiliarity with DO.

congrats to you mother of jace! we got 9/14 so hope to meet ya there. diana keep your spirits up, this process as all re-apps know is at times random and unpredictable so no worries (its still early in the season). peace

Guys, do you think it's a bad sign if an interview was rather short? They only asked me a few questions and then asked me if I had any questions for them. Not counting the time spent going over my questions for them, the interview would have been only about 15 -20 min long.

No, I don't think so. Unless you insulted him/her in some way, I don't believe you can gauge interview performance based on length. Don't worry about it.

i don't think so. it doesn't take long for these guys to get a feel for your personality/type of person you are.

Anyone processed on 6/20 hear anything from UTHSCSA yet?

I was processed on 6/20 and I haven't heard from UTHSCSA 🙁.

*sigh of relief* - well, I guess I can't really relax just yet.

doesnt tmdsas send out apps on wednesdays" i was completed on july 19th. so im waiting to see if i was processed and sent today. Does everyone who's app was sent off recieve the email at the same time, or do they update each account one-by-one as they send it off. and what time could i expect to recieve the email. the suspense is killing me. would someone who has already been processed help me out.

ah, I haven't gotten anything. guess it has to do with getting an interview.

did they sent your invitation to that email?

My friend called their office and they said their interview invites would be sent to the email you used for tmdsas, not the eraider account.

for those interviewing at A&M tomorrow and staying at the la quinta, what time do you plan on getting to the hotel today? just wondering, so maybe we can all meet up.

Probably not til this evening. I live in The Woodlands so I'm only 1.5 hours away. I'll PM you my number so give me a call sometime later, I'd love to meet you guys!

yay tmdsas has recieved my lor's. it says they recieved it on the 2nd of august, but it just came up today on the status of docs page. does that mean they sent it to the schools today? sure hope so.
good luck to you all for a&m tomorrow and hope utmb went well yesterday for you guys.

does it say any date for Initial Processing and sent to schools?

mine is weird, cuz i can see everything on my applicant profile except for the GPA, and today is the 20th day since they recieved my certification page (and they had my transcripts and LOR long before that). and there is no date next to the initial processing date.

Hey guys,

I have the option of staying the night with a medical student b4 the UTMB interview and going to the social the night before. Do you guys think I should go to these or just stay at a hotel? Would it be helpful if I stayed with a student? Just wonderin' guys

if i were you, i would take advantage of it. gives you more to talk abt at the interviews of what you think of life of a med student. and also the med student could give you some pointers on the interview. plus you could save some bucks on a hotel. i plan on doing that if i get an interview, but thas jus me.

yeah that was july 4th. my applicant profile did what yours is doing the day before it got processed. perhaps sometime today everything will be filled in and it will processed and sent to the schools. good luck!

woohoo...tmdsas finally processed.

couple doubts abt my app.

Im a Biomedical engineering major. Just finished my 3rd year. I stated my classification in the course work section according to semester hours, and not year. due to that, i have a GPA for 4 years, even though i have only completed 3 years. would this bring up any problems?

Also, for the science gpa, i included all my BME classes as other science, which brought my science gpa to 3.56. If i put my BME classes as non-science, and only BCPM as science, then my science GPA would have been 3.91, but my non-science would have been 3.32. So in other words, which scenario is better, all things being equal:

3.56 science/3.60 non-science or 3.91 science/3.32 non-science, both equaling to a cGPA of 3.57.

if i got interviews at all Tx schools i applied to, then i guess i could explain that it was the BME courses that brought my science GPA down.

I am a bit confused... why would you get to pick which courses to count as sciences? I am pretty sure the schools define what science is for you... and if you received interviews to every texas school you applied to then already why are you concerned?

i've heard recently that all you are only obligated to put bio, chem, phys, math (BCPM) as science courses. everything else can be put as Non-science when u do the course work section. All Tmdsas does is that they match the transcript with the courses you put in your course work section, and check if BCPM have been recorded as science. then again, I could have been hearing the wrong stuff.

The reason i am concerned is that, because my first year was mostly BCPM courses, and then slowing progressing into BME classes. And since i didnt do hot on my BME classes, and really good in my BCPM classes, my science GPA decreased each year. And ive heard that med schools look for upward trends. So even if i get interviews, these downward trends could come bite me in the ass come acceptance times.

But then again, it could be that tmdsas converts BME classes to science even if i were to put it as non-science, and everything ive worrying about is moot point.

It's not always so clear cut. According to Dean Maldonado at A&M, I wasn't giving myself credit for many courses TMDSAS considers "science". I was advised to include several courses I took during physical therapy school which significantly raised my science GPA from last year's cycle.
