A question for anyone willing to answer.

I am about to submit my AACOMs application and could possible have some interviews in October. My problem is this, lets say KCOM accepts me a few weeks after I interview in November or December and I have to let them know before the Texas Match on Feb. 1st. Can I delay my matriculation until after the match, or if I have to pay for my spot before the Texas Match, does that withdraw me for consideration from Texas schools. I am confused. Somebody please help.

You will have to pay the deposit to hold the seat until February. It will not make any difference on the Texas match unless you blow off interviews. It is a good idea to interview/secure a spot before the match if possible since Feb is quite late to start going on interviews.

AACOMAS is unrelated to TMDSAS. As a result, you can hold acceptances with both services. You will not be withdrawn from TMDSAS.

There is no reason to not pay a deposit in hold a spot at a school you are accepted at.

Yea but some of those schools are 2000 bucks!! Do you get any of that money back if you decide on another school?

Most of them do not refund. You can check with individual school policy about refunds. I can tell you that CCOM requires $1000 total. If you withdraw, you get $100 back.

Are you a Texas resident? If not, I just read that Texas medical schools are allowed to use rolling admission for non-Texas residents. If you are a Texas resident then disregard this. The reason I ask is that it is not stated in your profile.
