Texas PM&R/Pain

I will be starting my pain fellowship in 2012 and want to move to texas afterwards. I'm not from Texas but understand that there is much more money to be made there then the saturated southern california coast. I'm wide open to the state and looking for ideas as to where there is a need and people with decent insurance. Any and all help is appreciated.

Big cities, like most states, tend to be saturated but jobs are plentiful in Texas. Look at the suburbs of the big cities, as they are constantly expanding and have openings. It's probably best if you do a fellowship in Texas for connections, but ask your local device reps to contact their Texas counterparts for openings. And look at small towns, they're always looking

Beware of the TSBME. They license you in Texas. They look for reasons to sanction docs.

Also, small towns in Texas are not known for being welcoming to outsiders. However, become loose with your prescription pad and you'll quickly have all the patients you can handle and more...
