I know that Texas Schools are not out state friendly. I am thinking to apply one of them. What do you guys think? I am California resident and I know that as being an out state resident, I have very, very slim chance. Do you guys know any out of state residents got acceptance from any of the Texas schools?

i got accepted out of state this cycle. if you have above average stats i think you should apply. i think the key is putting in your secondaries something that shows some real interest in going to school in texas. i conveyed the fact that, even though i'm out-of-state (from the northeast), i have family nearby in my SA secondary, and it worked out really well. but I didn't mention it in my Baylor secondary and was flat out rejected.

agreed, a reason, I feel, why State DS's are generally opposed to out of state applicants is that they dont really want to train someone then after they graduate just up and leave the state. they'd much rather know or at least have some hope that after you graduate you'll stay around for a bit and work in state, that way they can milk you for taxes among other things...
