I'm considering Texas Southern University. I was wondering if Texas Southern UNiversity's Pharmacy School is still has a good reputation?

Thanks you

It's going to take me another year to finish all the pre reqs at TSU. What is a good way to get accepted? I heard its becoming more difficult in recent years.

I go to school there... so I know. If thats not enough then just don't apply. Sorry to be honest but, that's not something I will go into detail in defending. I go to school everyday and so do my peers praying to get into their pharmacy school. The faculty there is really good, you're gonna definately be one of the better pharmacist whereveer you go based on how you're trained and your expectations from the faculty. So, hopefully that helps but as far as how it may seem to other people, I dunno.

My reason for posting this question is to try getting an unbiased view of the TSU COPHS and to know what it might be like if I have to go there. I've been hearing a lot of bad things and I even wrote the Texas State Board of Pharmacy to attain their passing rates of the MPJE and the NAPLEX. I did notice that their passing rates are not as constant as the other Texas pharmacy schools are. But, my I’m starting to realize that any everyone will have a different experience at any school. 🙂

does anyone know when TSU starts their interview process?

thanks

TSU interviews started on 02/28. I personally had mine on 02/28. Supposedly, they will be interviewing 2 days each week. I am a TSU student and that is the rumor going around. Do Not get angry if this is not correct.

Could you tell me when you applied and your stats if you wouldn't mind?

Thanks

Arx, Do you go to TSU now? And tell me when you get your acceptance letter 🙂 so I can know how fast they actually respond. (Good luck!)

As someone who is not a TSU student, I can say that the outside perception of TSU is not generally a good one. I'm not saying anything about the school not being good, or trying to step on toes, but you're talking about reputation.

Having heard of people getting in with single digit PCAT scores and such doesn't sound too good to me. Did it happen? maybe, maybe not, but those types of stories exist with regards to TSU, from what I have heard, it is not thought too highly of in other parts of the state.
Though I readily admit, it's all hearsay, I haven't investigated any of it myself

Yeah. I am currently at TSU. Have you had your interview yet or heard anything. I forgot to ask them in my interview when to expect to hear back from them. Although last year, i didn't get my denial letter til early may. People were getting their acceptance letters one or two weeks before then. Also, are you waiting for Jan. Pcat scores? I heard mrs. davis still has not recieved them.
