Hi Everybody,

I had my early decision interview with Texas Tech this past Friday and loved it! I wanted to ask if anybody has any insight about the GPA policy? I know their minimum is a 3.0, but does anybody know if they are flexible at all with that? My GPA is currently below a 3.0 and I am retaking a class in hopes of getting an A which would put me borderline 3.0 but still a little below. My plan was to retake another class in the Spring and hopefully make an A which would put me above a 3.0, but unfortunately there is not a class that fits my work schedule. I have all pre reqs taken years ago so I was just retaking a couple of classes to get my GPA up. Does anybody know if they show flexibility at all if the rest of your application is good? Or is it a deal breaker if your GPA is below a 3.0?

Thanks in advance.

How sure are you? I have heard both sides. I've contacted them and am yet to get a direct answer. I know the 3.0 is in writing that it is a requirement but people have said if you do well enough at the interview that they may relax that a bit. I just don't want to stress about this and wish I had a 100% positive answer haha

interview invitation means they had decent amount of interest in you and you passed the academic portion of the selection process. if u did fairly well on interview, most likely you are in.

My friend who is a P4 is pretty adamant that the GPA requirement is set in stone and if I don't have it to where it needs to be then they can rescind my acceptance. Ugh I am so confused haha. I am waiting to hear back, hopefully will hear this week.
